Chapter 1475: Oh, My Darling
Archer followed behind the blue-haired beauty, who led him toward Hecate’s room as Freya cooed in his arms. He glanced down with a big smile. ’’Your little sisters are about to appear, little one,’’ he said.
The little white haired baby made more adorable noises, catching Teuila’s attention as she slowed down and looked at the bundle with a happy expression. ’’She’s gorgeous, Arch, like a mini version of you both.’’
A warm chuckle rumbled from his chest as he listened to her words, his eyes crinkling with affection. He tilted his head, a gentle smile spreading across his face as he extended an offer that surprised her.
’’Would you like to hold her?’’ he asked. ’’After all, you’re one of her mothers.’’
The young woman’s face transformed at his words, her bright blue eyes sparkling with a mix of joy and nervous anticipation. She nodded eagerly, her enthusiasm radiating like sunlight breaking through a clouded sky.
Her gaze flickered to the tiny bundle in his arms, her heart swelling with an unspoken promise. Archer turned his attention to Freya, the infant nestled comfortably against him, her wide, curious eyes fixed on the woman before her.
’’This, my little star,’’ he murmured, his tone a soothing lullaby. ’’Is one of your many mothers. She’s a remarkable woman, with a heart so big she’d move mountains for you.’’
His words were a gentle introduction, weaving a thread of connection between the child and the woman who stood ready to embrace her role in Freya’s life. When Teuila heard this, she beamed.
Without warning, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, smiling. ’’Thank you for the kind words. I can wait for our child to be born, it shouldn’t be long now.’’
Archer noticed her rubbing her stomach, causing him to nod in agreement. ’’I can’t wait, Teu, now here you go.’’
The couple quickly noticed Freya’s wide, curious eyes were fixed on her, who walked with a spring in her step, her rich brown skin glowing in the sunlight, and her light blue hair swaying with each movement.
She stepped closer, her hands steadying as Archer carefully passed the baby to her. The moment Freya settled into her arms, Teuila’s face softened into an expression of pure adoration.
Freya’s tiny fingers twitched, her gaze still locked on her hair, as if mesmerized by its shimmer. She laughed softly, a sound like wind chimes, and leaned down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead.
’’Oh, my special, beautiful daughter,’’ she cooed, her voice thick with emotion. ’’Look at you, so perfect, so precious.’’
As they resumed their walk toward Hecate’s room, Teuila’s every step seemed lighter, her arms cradling Freya with a natural, protective grace. She rocked the baby gently, her words a steady stream of affection.
’’You’re going to love meeting Hecate, my sweet girl,’’ she whispered, brushing a finger along the baby’s chubby cheek. ’’She’s going to adore you just as much as I do.’’
Her eyes glistened as she spoke, her voice carrying the weight of a mother’s promise. She adjusted the soft blanket around Freya, tucking it snugly, and hummed a quiet lullaby, her maternal warmth enveloping the child like a second embrace.
When Archer saw this, a smile appeared. ’’You’re a natural Teu, and she seems to like you,’’ he warmly said. The blue-haired beauty beamed as she nodded. ’’I’ve always helped my aunts with their children, but it’s been years since I’ve seen a baby.’’
As they continued their walk down the palace’s corridor, Teuila’s heart swelled with an overwhelming rush of love for the tiny bundle in her arms. Freya, nestled snugly against her, gazed up with wide blue eyes that seemed to hold the secrets of the universe
’’Oh, my darling,’’ Teuila murmured, her voice rising to a playful, high-pitched lilt that danced through the air like a melody. ’’I’ve never seen such a beautiful little girl like you, my sweet bundle of joy. You’re perfect, aren’t you?’’
Her words were woven with warmth, each syllable wrapping the baby in a cocoon of love. Freya’s tiny lips parted, and a delighted gurgle escaped, her chubby hands waving in the air as if trying to catch the sound of her voice.
The baby’s eyes sparkled with joy, locked on the blue-haired beauty’s face, utterly captivated by her affection. Archer, walking beside them, let out a deep, hearty chuckle, his hazel eyes twinkling with amusement as he watched her playful antics.
’’You’re going full silly now, aren’t you?’’ he teased.
He couldn’t help but grin as Freya, clearly enchanted, let out a string of adorable coos and babbles, her tiny voice rising in a symphony of pure happiness. The sounds were like music, each note tugging at their heartstrings.
Teuila’s laughter bubbled up, bright and infectious, as she gently bounced Freya in her arms, swaying with the rhythm of their steps. Archer watched as she spun around and made sure to be dramatic, making the baby laugh.
’’Oh, listen to you, my precious girl!’’ she exclaimed, her eyes glistening with unshed tears of joy. ’’Those little noises, are you trying to tell me a story already?’’
She brushed a finger along Freya’s cheek, marveling at the softness of her skin, and tucked the baby’s blanket a little tighter around her small form. ’’You’re going to be a chatterbox, just like your father, aren’t you?’’ she cooed, her voice a mix of pride and playful pride.
The corridor seemed to fade away as Teuila lost herself in the moment, her world narrowing to the tiny girl in her arms and the overwhelming love that surged through her. Freya responded with another burst of happy babbling, her big eyes never leaving Teuila’s face.
Following that, the baby had had enough and glanced at Archer, causing the young woman to comment. ’’Oh, you want Daddy again? Let me give you to him, I have to help Hecate with the birth.’’
Teuila handed Freya over with a big smile. ’’She’s amazing, Arch, thank you for letting me hold her,’’ she said.
Archer waved her away. ’’It’s okay, Teu, I’ll be the same with all my children. It’s one of the reasons I spared the Darkthorne Empire, I wanted to come back here and see this little girl,’’ he commented while tickling the baby’s belly.
Freya giggled again, causing him to mutter. ’’Babies in this world are stronger than back on Earth, they could only babble at this age, but here she is giggling.’’
’’She’s your daughter after all,’’ Teuila answered, giggling. ’’Freya’s smarter than any baby I’ve seen. You know she’s constantly stared at us since I gave her back to you?’’
Archer glanced down only to see the baby glance between the two before cuddling up to his chest even more. He chuckled as the two of them arrived at the bedroom, only to see midwives entering.
When the couple stepped inside, he spotted the gorgeous Moon Elf lying on the bed, her silver hair tied into a tight bun with sweat running down her dark grey skin as her chest rose up and down.
Her red eyes turned to them, only for a big smile to appear as she greeted him. ’’Husband! I knew you wouldn’t miss this, and it looks like you brought a little angel to watch her sisters being born.’’
Freya’s head whipped toward Hecate, her pointed ears twitching with sudden alertness. Her eyes widened, sparkling with a mix of surprise and uncontainable excitement, as a stream of delighted babbling spilled from her lips, soft that danced through the air like a song only she understood.
’’Looks like she wants to be involved already,’’ Teuila commented.
The sight drew warm smiles from the two women, their faces glowing with affection as they watched the baby’s animated display. Archer, drawn by the infectious joy, stepped quietly toward the bed.
A soft creak of the floorboards beneath his boots was barely audible over Freya’s cheerful chatter. He settled beside the elf, the mattress dipping slightly under his weight, and his presence seemed to ground the moment in a gentle calm.
Archer’s gaze softened as he looked at Freya, her delicate features alight with wonder, before turning to the Moon Elf. Leaning closer, he brushed a tender kiss against Hecate’s cheek, his lips lingering for a heartbeat as a quiet warmth passed between them.
’’I’m glad I got to meet her, Arch,’’ she said softly. ’’I know the others have been visiting when they can, but with the war, those moments are few and far between.’’
A sudden contraction gripped Hecate, and she clutched his arm, her voice trembling with urgency. ’’They’re coming, my love. Our girls are almost here.’’
Just then, the midwives moved Archer out of the way as the pain hit the Moon Elf in waves. He backed off with a worried expression and held Freya closer as Sia sent him a message about feeding her.
Archer teleported to the Dragonkin woman and gave her the baby, as he revealed. ’’Hecate’s giving birth, I’ll be back once I know she’s safe.’’
When Sia heard this, her face lit up with excitement. ’’Finally! She’s wanted to meet those babies for months now.’’
