Chapter 1838 Forced Out
"What are people from the Twilight Faction doing here?"
"Quiet! Do you want to lose your head?"
"Why would I lose my head over mere words?"
"Because I find it offensive and now you have to die."
Along with that statement came shocked gasps, and turning his attention to the place, Grey caught sight of a human head being severed from its body as it slammed into the ground. An Elementalist, one of the people in the City had been killed just like that.
Just when they wanted to react, they noticed the identity of the perpetrator and all kept mute. The man who was standing beside the other man and had warned him to keep quiet was shaking from fear, his body drenched in sweat as he looked at the headless body of his friend he was just having a conversation with.
Before him was a man staring at him menacingly dressed in light brown clothings as well as a crisscrossing insignia. He didn't need to confirm the identity of this middle-aged man because he recognized him standing with the group of seven from the Twilight Faction.
"The people we seek are not here." Of the group of seven, an Old man who had kept silent all this while spoke up after taking a cursory glance, he didn't put anyone here in his eyes as there wasn't anyone here who could pose a threat to him.
A young man who looked to be in his early twenties walked to the side of the Old man and asked, "Should we wait for them or take these beasts back to Father?"
"There's no rush. They will be here shortly. They aren't usually late." The Old man motioned for the young man to follow him as they headed straight into the large building.
This building belonged to a chamber of commerce that was affiliated with the Twilight Faction. Whenever they pass through these Cities affiliated with their Factions, they can make use of the Chamber's resources, of course, provided their status is above average.
As the duo walked into the building, they were cautiously led into one of the waiting rooms. There was also a place of residence located here, but the Old man clearly didn't believe he needed to stay that long.
With the Old man leaving with just the young man, the remaining five, including the man who killed someone a while back, were left outside to stand guard.
The crowd didn't show any signs of dispersing anytime soon. They were all staring at the Dragons with curious eyes, this was their first time seeing them after all, anyone would be marveled at the majesty of these powerful Beasts when seeing them for the first time.
Grey was well hidden in the crowd, not drawing any attention. Other than the Old man who was surprisingly a Ninth stage Sovereign, this group had three Eighth stage Sovereigns, two Seventh stage, and a Fifth stage Sovereign in the young man who accompanied the Old man into the building.
'Can you guys send them into that place?' He asked Void telepathically.
Living creatures can't be kept in spatial storages, but for some strange reason, both Void and the bunny leader had means to not only come and go at will, but they can even put living Magical Beasts there as well. Of course, the process isn't as simple as it sounds as it required a bit of effort from the duo.
'The Dragons are too powerful, it will take a lot of effort to keep them. I'm not sure we will have the strength to keep the other ones safe.'
Grey didn't even think Void and the bunny leader would be able to keep the Dragons inside that spatial storage. These Dragons were just as powerful as they duo, so it will naturally require a lot of effort to transport such a powerful entity into a somewhat strange place that couldn't be called a world since it can't really contain most living beings.
Before the Old man entered the building, he overheard him speaking about waiting for someone. This placed Grey in a dilemma as he didn't know when it would be a good idea to rescue these Magical Beasts now or wait until after the group left this City as it was clear they didn't plan to stay. If it had been possible for Void and the bunny leader to take all the Magical Beasts away, then he wouldn't have been this stumped. But he couldn't take just the Dragons leaving the other Magical Beasts to die.
With his current abilities, he was confident he could defeat a Ninth stage Sovereign. A few months after he became a Sixth stage Sovereign, he defeated a Ninth stage Sovereign back in the Pyro World. Now, he has not only broken through to the Seventh stage of the Sovereign Plane, but he was much more powerful compared to when he fought his first Ninth stage Sovereign.
Other than the Old man, the three Eighth stage Sovereigns aren't much of a problem. But if he doesn't want to go for the kill, then it will not be as easy.
'Should I intercept them on their way or risk freeing these Beasts now?'
If he wants to free the Beasts now, he will have to spend a considerable amount of effort. Especially given the fact that he didn't want to casually kill anyone. This secret realm might be regarded as a means of training to most of the young geniuses in the Aurora Continent, but to a certain extent, they were doing almost doing the same thing the Gnomes are doing to them, only instead of invading, they were occasionally using it as a training ground, not caring about the life and deaths of most of its natives.
Grey isn't one to mindlessly kill people, although over the years the number of people who had died under his hands were well over the thousand mark, it didn't change his view of the world.
While he was still deep in thoughts, he sensed a familiar aura and turning his head, he noticed a group of four coming in the direction of the building. As soon as he caught sight of them, his expression changed drastically. The reason for this was because all four people in the group had their eyes locked on him.
"Little brat! You can't escape this time!" An enraged roar rang out. Along with the roar was a lightning bolt.
Bang!
The lightning bolt struck the ground, causing the ground to crack.
Grey, who should've been hit by the lightning bolt, was safe and sound fifty meters away from where the lightning bolt struck.
'Damn it! Why are they here?!' Grey felt like crying internally, the reason for this was because the group of four was none other than the group that chased him a while ago. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would encounter them again, in this City no less.
The man's roar and attack shocked the crowd, but after the initial attack, the man from the group of four didn't attack again, rather, glaring coldly at where Grey was standing.
Everyone followed his gaze and saw Grey standing there with an annoyed expression.
The group of five from the Twilight Faction took action, getting into an attacking stance as the man who beheaded someone a few minutes ago asked haughtily, "Who dares to make a move in the presence of the Twilight Faction?"
"I believe Lord Everard is expecting us." The man who attacked Grey turned to the man who just spoke and responded, although he didn't speak in a proud manner, he also didn't show any signs of fear in front of this man.
Before the man could respond, a figure appeared beside him.
"Godric, you made it." The Old man from before laughed as he welcomed the man who attacked Grey, it was clear they had a close relationship.
Thinking that this man was also a Ninth stage Sovereign expert, the man didn't see any reason why the duo couldn't be friends.
"We had a slight hiccup in our journey." Saying this, the man regarded as Godric turned his hostile filled gaze at Grey.
"Oh.." The Old man showed an amused expression as he turned to look at Grey. The second his eyes met with Grey's, he was suddenly taken aback.
'Such rich essence. How could such a figure be here and I didn't notice?' Lord Everard was taken aback as he sensed Grey's cultivation. Although Grey wasn't releasing his aura, he also didn't try to hide it. What he couldn't understand is how Grey was still so young yet already in the Seventh stage of the Sovereign Plane. He turned his head to look at the young man by his side with a complex gaze. He originally thought this was the greatest talent he had ever seen due to his young age. However, from what he could tell, Grey was even younger than the young man.
