Chapter 1872: Complete Wipeout

The battle deep in the canyon continued viciously. Klaus’ arrival changed the course of the battle, but after the initial first few seconds, the Gnomes have reorganized themselves and did not allow the surprise to worry them. Although the humans seem to have the upper hand, the Gnomes still had the superior numbers, which was quite significant given that a Gnome will always have a Puppet that is at least on the same cultivation stage as themselves, almost doubling their strength.

Klaus was facing the three Seventh stage Puppets. Without the element of surprise, he was not as dominant against the Puppets compared to the way he easily took out a Puppet during his entrance, making the three Gnomes heave a sigh of relief. The current situation proved that Klaus was not unbeatable.

Klaus did not show any panic as he faced off against these people, he knew he would not be able to repeat what happened during his entrance, but he was not worried. No matter what happens here today, these Gnomes would die, this was something he was certain of.

He was able to stop any attack from getting within a meter of him with the aid of his domain, making the region within ten meters of him have constant snowfall.

A bolt of lightning fell from the sky, striking where Klaus was standing, but even as the bolt of lightning struck, Klaus did not move from his spot. His figure glowed brightly as silver thin ice armor appeared on his body. This was his defensive ice ability. Using the scales of magical beasts as reference, the silver armor was designed in the same way. The bolt of lightning struck Klaus’ motionless figure but did little to no damage.

Looking at his condition, Klaus felt quite satisfied with the effect of his defensive ability. He did not see the need to use it during the previous battle, but now that he had the opportunity, he was not disappointed.

‘That place really does have a few good things.’ He could not help but click his tongue as he thought about his time at the Crescent Moon Faction. This technique is one of the multiple techniques he learned during his stay at the Faction. His performance during the test made the Crescent Moon Faction place special attention on him, offering him a variety of different benefits. He would naturally not give up on free things, especially ones as good as these ones. The Moonlight Faction gave him access to their elemental techniques Halls, but most of their techniques did not really suit him, so he rarely uses them. The reason for this is purely due to the Faction only accepting female Elementalists, making most of their techniques tailor made for women.

The three Gnomes noticed how easy it was for Klaus to deal with something they felt would have been a deadly attack. They soon figured out it would take a while if they wanted to deal with Klaus, looking at the others, the injured Gnome made up his mind and after making some hand seals, the aura of his Puppet started to increase while his figure shriveled up.

“We must kill him as soon as possible!” The Gnome yelled.

The Eighth stage Sovereign who was freed up by Klaus had killed one Sixth stage Gnome who also had a Seventh stage Sovereign. If that man was given enough time, they knew that he would come back and kill them. This was not something they wanted.

The battle intensified with all three Gnomes doing everything in their power to quickly take Klaus out. A minute went by, and even with the increased strength of the Gnomes, they were not able to take Klaus out.

Klaus, on the other hand, was cursing nonstop at the Gnomes. Whatever technique the Gnomes used to improve the strengths of the Puppets made them have the advantage in the fight, putting him in a difficult position. If not for his powerful ice wall, he would not have been able to survive their assault. Even his new defensive technique could not properly block all the attacks from affecting him.

The Gnomes could not believe they were not able to defeat Klaus even when they had the advantage. During the first minute they thought within the next minute they would defeat him. Unfortunately, it has been almost four minutes now and Klaus was still standing without any significant injuries.

Each of the Gnomes have started to have doubts in their hearts. They have fought several human experts before and have even taken out one or two Eighth stage Sovereigns, yet none of them could believe that with three Seventh stage Puppets, that were all strengthened by secret techniques is not enough to take Klaus out. According to the auras of these Puppets, each of them should be as strong as an Eighth stage Sovereign, yet Klaus, a Seventh stage Sovereign was fighting against three on his own.

The Eighth stage Sovereign, seeing this, did not continue attacking the other Gnomes. He had already used the time Klaus used to hold the trio back to kill the other Sixth stage Sovereign Gnomes. He did not need to help the others as there was not too much danger any more.

Rushing over, he unleashed an attack to force one of the Puppets back.

“What took you so long?” Klaus could not help asking. Even though he did not request for help, this man should at least have come to help out when he noticed the Gnomes could improve the strength of the Puppets.

The man apologized with an embarrassed expression. Klaus is the reason they were still alive, but he neglected Klaus’ situation for so long, opting to make things easier for his people before rushing over to help, which was a selfish act.

Klaus did not have the time to query the man about what took him so long, since he was here now, it was time for him to start his counter attack.

The Gnomes glared at the Eighth stage Sovereign who rushed to Klaus’ aid, not expecting anyone to interfere with their fight.

Klaus, who finally had the chance to properly counterattack these Gnomes did not hold back, unleashing one powerful attack after another. In a short minute, one of the three Seventh stage Puppets was almost fully frozen solid.

The Gnomes quickly realized there was no way for them to defeat Klaus and the Eighth stage Sovereign. They wanted to escape, but there was no way Klaus was going to allow them leave this place, especially after they treated him in such a manner when they were fighting him alone.

The Gnomes did everything they could to escape, going as far as even detonating their Puppets. Alas, with Klaus adamant on getting revenge, he did not mind sustaining some slight injuries just to ensure he was able to keep these Gnomes from escaping.

The battle continued for little over five minutes after Klaus had help before they defeated the Gnomes.

Ten minutes later.

The canyon had regained its peace and quiet, with the exception of the stench of blood in the air. Corpses could be seen sprawling on the ground, belonging to both humans and Gnomes.

From the group of almost twenty people, only about eight survived with Klaus and the Eighth stage Sovereign, and all of them were also Sovereigns. Those below the Sovereign Plane all lost their lives.

The Eighth stage Sovereign approached Klaus who was studying the tear quietly. This was not the first time he was seeing this tear, and to be honest, he always felt uncomfortable whenever he was standing before it. This was the only way the Gnomes could invade their world, and could not help but wonder what their lives would be like if the Gnomes never found these links.

“Thank you for your assistance.” The man in the Eighth stage walked over to Klaus and bowed. Even though he was stronger and older than Klaus, he could not deny Klaus’ strength. From their short time fighting together, he could tell that Klaus would be able to defeat him if they fought each other.

Klaus turned his attention to the man, nodding he asked, “How did you find this place?”

This place was well hidden, and without the Gnome he tortured for information, he would have never been able to locate this place. Seeing these people already here, he was a little curious.

“We found a Tribe..” The man did not see anything wrong with Klaus’ question, and from the latter’s clothing, he could already guess his identity was not ordinary, so he did not see anything wrong with answering him.

According to the man, the found a Tribe that was attacked by the Gnomes and after a few days of tracking, they followed the Gnomes here along with the captives. They started fighting with them when they noticed they were stronger, but two more Sixth stage Sovereigns came from no where, changing the course of the fight.
