Chapter 1875: New Haircut

Alice knew that the only reason the two Puppets fell to the ground is most likely due to Klaus’ sneak attack. She thought he would only be able to deal with one of the Gnomes, after all, these were Gnomes in the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane, and could almost be regarded as some of the top powerhouses in both Races due to the lower number of Ninth and Peak Sovereigns.

Reynolds did not continue fighting, this was because after the clash, the Puppet retreated. He did not chase after it not because he did not want to, but because he knew there was no escaping for this Gnome now. With the other two Gnomes out of the picture, he was confident he alone would be enough to handle this Gnome.

The Gnome was in a state of panic, a moment ago he and his companions were chasing two miserable humans they had already planned to turn into Puppets. All it took was a single second for everything to change.

“Who dares ambush us?” The Gnome roared, searching for Klaus.

“Is something wrong with your head?” Klaus’ mocking voice came from above.

The Gnome raised his head and saw Klaus staring at him coldly. He did not need anyone to tell him if his companions death had anything to do with Klaus, he could still sense the frigid cold his body is releasing, which is the same as the cold air coming from his companions who have been turned into ice sculptures. What scared him the most was the fact that not only was Klaus’ attack able to instantly kill the duo in the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane as himself, that attack passed through them and killed the duo in the Sixth stage behind them. It was one thing being able to take out two Eighth stage Sovereigns at the same time, but adding two more Sixth stage Sovereigns with the same attack is unbelievable.

“You? Who else is hiding?” The Gnome did not want to accept that Klaus was the only one who killed all four Gnomes with one attack. The auras might match, but if his memory served him right, Alice also had a Seelie who could release such frigid cold.

One of the reasons Klaus’ ice ability saw a significant increase was after coming in contact with the Seelie the first time and then mastering the effect of heavy water. Adding those whenever he was creating any ice attack made it much stronger.

“Who wants to deal with him?” Klaus did not even bother asking and turned to Reynolds and Alice.

The aura Reynolds was giving off at the moment was that of an Eighth stage Sovereign, Klaus knew this is under the effect of his Elemental Warrior, but he still could not help but be amazed by it. From what he could tell, he knew that either Reynolds or Alice could deal with this Gnome alone, so he did not see the need in attacking any further.

Alice wanted to take a step forward, but Reynolds grabbed her by the shoulder and shook his head, taking huge strides forward while he cracked his knuckles while a menacing and savage look could be seen in his eyes. Reynolds stopping Alice is not that he felt she could not defeat the Gnome, even in her current weakened state, he knew that as long as she was willing to pay a little sacrifice, she would be able to kill this Gnome.

Alice did not try to force the issue, with her Seelie needing some time to recover, she knew she would not be able to use her full strength. Victory is guaranteed, but the chances of her getting injured during the fight is high.

“Don’t worry, I will make him pay for both of us.” Reynolds’ voice was oozing with killing intent. If not for Klaus’ timely arrival, the chances that they might have been killed by these Gnomes is quite high. They were not only outnumbered, but there was no help coming. They were even more frantic at the thought of Klaus coming here, given the Gnomes’ strength, if Klaus came alone, there was a chance they would all have to fight against the Gnomes. He did not think of Klaus lying in ambush for these Gnomes. Thanks to Klaus’ quick thinking, he solved the problem while barely putting his life at risk.

The Gnome wanted to escape, but he knew just how fast Reynolds was. If not for wanting to protect Alice, they were certain Reynolds would be able to escape if he wanted to.

The Gnome wanted to plead with them, but he knew there was no sympathy in war between warriors. Since he lost this fight, then he either waited for his death, or he died fighting. The Gnome roared and did not rush in Reynolds’ direction, rather, it shot straight towards Klaus.

“You think you have the luxury of picking who gets to kill you?” Klaus asked with a sneer before waving his hand and the region within thirty meters of him started to snow. The second the Gnome entered within this region, he realized he just made the biggest mistake of his life. At least with Reynolds, he knew he could still move at his normal pace. But the second he was trapped in Klaus’ ice domain, he noticed that even his thinking process slowed down significantly, along with his movements.

The Puppet was no different, but unlike the Gnome, it did not need to think. Klaus’ domain might be powerful, but it was not omnipotent.

Reynolds noticed the Puppet’s speed did not reduce as much as the Gnome’s speed. His figure which was wrapped in lightning making him look like a lightning God shot straight at the Gnome, forgetting about the existence of the Puppet. Klaus’ domain only momentarily slowed him down, but his figure quickly flashed through like a hot knife through butter, facing little to know obstructions.

The Gnome could sense the threat of death looming and he knew that there was no escaping it. He gnashed his teeth and roared, trying to detonate his Puppet. As long as he could take Klaus with him, he was satisfied. Reynolds and Alice were powerful, but if not for Klaus’ sneak attack, they would be dead, so he believed Klaus was the stronger of the trio and hence should be killed. If he could take him out, at least one of the top experts from the Human Race would have been taken out.

A smile appeared on his face as he saw the light explosion about to come out from the body of his Puppet. Once a Puppet gets to this stage, there is no way of stopping its detonation.

Reynolds’ fist struck the Gnome’s head at the same time, shattering it apart. He wanted to give the Gnome a slow death, but seeing what he was about to do, he did not want to take any chances. The self-destruction of a Ninth stage Sovereign is nothing to take lightly.

He was not the only one, Klaus was already prepared if something like this happened, without hesitation, he covered the Puppet with a large ball of heavy water before freezing it almost within the same second.

“Run!” Screaming at the top of his lungs, he took off. He knew he could not stop the detonation like the previous time, after all, this was a Ninth stage Sovereign Puppet, even being able to slow down the detonation is proof of his shocking power.

Reynolds, seeing Klaus cover the Puppet with his water breathed a sigh of relief, thinking he had stopped it, it was only after hearing Klaus’ voice who was already nowhere to be seen did he figure he must have overestimated the ability of his friend.

“Damn it! Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!” Reynolds roared as he retreated. But the ice shattered as a powerful explosion burst out, quickly spreading across a distance of a kilometer.

The dilapidated City.

Klaus was standing at the City gate, watching the explosion die down, Alice was standing by his side while worriedly looking at the blast site for Reynolds.

“He’s fine, with his speed he will not suffer any injuries.” Klaus was not as worried as Alice.

While he was trying to start up a conversation with Alice, Reynolds’ roar came from the west of the City.

“Klaus! You’re dead!”

Hearing Reynolds’ roar, Klaus turned to look in the direction of the voice, seeing Reynolds’ condition, he burst out laughing.

Alice covered her mouth to hide her giggling.

At the moment, one of Reynolds’ eyebrows is gone, and his beards which have grown significantly longer were gone too, along with one part of his mustache. His clothes were also in a battered state, but he was not injured in any way. Among the group, barring Grey and Void’s space element, Reynolds is the fastest, especially after fusing with his Elemental Warrior.

“What are you shouting about? I gave you a fresh hair cut… see.” After saying this, Klaus created an ice mirror in front of Reynolds.
