Child of Destiny

Chapter 1499: The Springfields' Might

...

A huge crowd of people gathered at the entrance of the territory of the Springfield Family as they started at the ongoing phenomenon in the sky above and the continuous surge of energies gathering from every direction.

Such an event could only happen when an extremely powerful expert was trying to do something, particularly when they were about to break through.

Most of the experts would require a huge amount of energy from nature whenever they tried to do something big.

Whatever was causing this phenomenon, these people gathered in this place all wanted to know what the Springfield Family was up to.

Due to the recent events that were successively happening within the Soaring Continent, which involved the Springfield Family most of the time, everyone within the continent had to keep their eyes on them.

The World Government and the Federal Army, who were especially paying more attention to this continent due to a lot of organizations starting to operate and trying to set root in this place, had also relocated some of their resources and stationed some of their elite forces in here.

The Military Circle of the Soaring Continent was still the most powerful force within the continent due to the influential families that were involved with them. Due to the repeated incidents, the ones that had become the most powerful were still the Green and Springfield Families.

The ones that were usually right behind them started to lose their standings and influence due to them being found to be connected to the Shadow Alliance after the big war in the Central Region.

After the Springfield Family had exposed the Leon Family, more evidence was found, which proved the involvement of these families with the Shadow Alliance and other underground organizations.

Along with the support of the Stuart Family and the Potter Clan, which were the top Mentalist Families within the continent, the Springfield Family had gained more influence.

There was also the Levana Family, who were the in-laws of the Springfield due to Bernard marrying one of their heiresses.

With such an alliance, no other people would dare to carelessly provoke them.

But there had always been an exemption. The Green Family had become equally influential as the Springfield Family within the Military Circle due to them being the new head of another faction within the circle.

What left were the scattered factions of the less influential families, who also decided to remain neutral.

The rivalry between the Springfields and the Greens had become much more intense due to the repeated achievements that the former were constantly getting from the recent events within the continent.

This made the Greens hasten their progress and increase their partnership with some powerful organizations, who were willing to invest in their technological products.

Now that something was happening within the walls of the Springfield Household once again, the sly foxes from the other organizations were secretly rooting for the Green Family in what was about to come.

With such a big commotion, the Green Family couldn't let the Springfields get ahead of them.

In the distance, where a certain skyscraper was located, someone donning a military uniform and a general hat was currently looking in the direction of the mountain that was covered with the transparent dome. ꭆΑ𐌽ồᛒÊş

The distance between the two places was not that far as those from the skyscraper could clearly see what was happening on the other side given their current realms.

This person was one of the generals that the World Government had dispatched to this continent to monitor the situation in this place and report to the headquarters regularly.

This general was currently having a teatime, which occasionally turned his head toward the direction of the Springfield Household. He was using his special ocular technique to closely observe the situation before retrieving his gaze and continuing his sips of his tea.

Clank!

Not long after, his confidant entered the room and reported. "We have already dispatched our people, general. We are waiting for your orders."

The general briefly nodded as he continued. "Put them on standby. We are not here to declare war on them. We are trying our luck to see if we will find any traces of the Heavenly Demon while monitoring the situation."

"Given his close relationship with the Springfields, I doubt that he will stay his hand if something goes wrong, or his friends are put at risk. Just like what happened at the Ace City," he added in a very calm manner as if the commotion within the Springfield Household was nothing the be concerned about.

"What about the Green Family, sir?" asked his confidant.

The general thought for a moment before saying. "You can support them with everything if they have the upper hand but do bother if they will be losing."

"There is no need to waste our effort and risk provoking the Springfields this early if the Greens are not worth investing in. It will be better to be a little more careful and wait for another opportunity to arise in the future," he added as if treating the latter family as some sort of cannon fodder.

"You may leave now," he instructed as he wanted to enjoy this teatime in silence.

"I understand, Sir," the confidant bowed before retreating and closing the door.

Not long after, he suddenly sensed an overwhelming aura coming from the sealed mountain and grinned. "It looks like the Dragon King will be taking the lead this time as well."

"I wonder what happened to the leader of the Brutal Special Force as we have never seen or heard anything about him since his last appearance at the war-torn area," he mumbled as he took another sip of his tea.

At the foot of the Spiritual Mountain, which would be leading toward the Springfield Household, a hole appeared from the barrier.

Then Nathan walked out of it along with a troop with intimidating pressure. Each member of the people uniformly walking behind was emitting a powerful and suffocating aura. They did not even bother to hide their realms, showcasing that each of them was at the peak of the Void Manifestation Stage with two people walking at the forefront, slightly behind Nathan, at the early phase of the Domain Realm.

These soldiers were not wearing the regular uniform of the military but donning the special suites that the Springfield Family had provided them, which were crafted from the finest materials and enchanted by mentalism techniques.

They were quite armed as they were carrying an assault rifle and a set of extra magazines on their tactical vests, but the threat that they were emitting far surpassed most of the armies with their auras alone.

There was an extra pistol holstered on their waists and a variety of military knives, daggers, or shortswords depending on their preference, which also made them distinguishable from one another.

Regardless, the golden outline on their black uniform and the golden dragon embroidered on the back, signified which force they belonged.

This troop was a part of the most elite and strongest force of the Springfield Family – the Golden Dragon Division.

Right after Nathan appeared with this division, the people, who arrived to investigate what the phenomenon was about, instantly realized that the Springfield Family was not messing around.

To dispatch their most pride division was basically telling everyone to get the 'f*ck' out of this place.

Nathan ignored the other people from the crowd and the onlookers in the distance. He quickly headed to the most noticeable group among them.

With the fancy and eye-catching outfits that they were wearing – the Battle Suits and Mechas – it was impossible to ignore them. This was the famed Mech Corps of the Green Family, which was as famous as the Dragon Division of the Springfield Family.

"What a rare visitor we have here. Isn't this the famous Commander Tristan Green of the Ghost Mech Corps?" greeted Nathan but with a very aggressive tone. "I wonder what has brought you here to our humble place?"

He then swept his gaze at everyone on the other side before continuing. "If I don't know you for being a coward, then I will mistake that your family is declaring war against our family for bringing such force with you."

"It is surely not meant for an ordinary visit, I presume?" he added as a powerful aura was released from his body and enfolded the entire place.

The corner of the other party twitched uncontrollably when he heard Nathan mocking. But before he could even refute it, an overwhelming pressure was quickly released and spread in every direction, filling the entire area.

'What a sly bastard,' praised Tristan, admitting that Nathan had handled the situation quite well.

By ignoring everyone who gathered in this place, Nathan had avoided directly creating a conflict with them. Then by heading toward them, who were the most noticeable among everyone, and saying those words, his sudden outburst of aura was suddenly justified – especially given the rivalry of their family.

It was not Tristan had not thought about this. He and his Mech Corps just did not have the time to unequip their suits as they just come back to the continent after finishing a special mission.

They had to rush to this place after the elders of the Green Family had instructed them to investigate the sudden phenomenon that appeared in the sky of the Springfield Household, which put them in this current situation.

Tristan wanted to curse, but he could not give the circumstances. He forced a smile as he responded. "Commander Nathan must have misunderstood us. We just rush toward here after noticing the commotion. Given that your family has declared war with the Black Serpent Mafia, we are afraid that those sly snakes have become bold enough to attack your household."

"As an 'ally' of our Military Circle, it is natural for us to come to your aid, don't you think?" he added cleverly.

"I see. I must have misunderstood your intention indeed," Nathan nodded but did not retrieve the already released aura as he continued. "Then you don't have to worry anymore. An elder of our family just happened to have been enlightened during his training and accidentally caused that phenomenon."

"Let me represent my family to apologize for the inconvenience," he might only be talking to Tristan on the surface. But given his domineering tone and threatening aura, it was clear that these words were meant for everyone.

In response to his words, the Golden Dragon Division behind him and standing in front of the entrance of the Spiritual Mountain intensified their respective auras, seemingly getting ready for something.

They remained in their 'rested' and idle position, but the threatening aura that each of them was releasing intimidated most of the people gathered.

The Springfields were clearly telling everyone that they were the master of this place.
