Chapter 1902 - 1902: A Real World

‘Shit… what the hell is happening? This world is actually real, and so are the people in it? If triggering Huang Xiao Li’s memories of Tian Yang caused that world-ending phenomenon, why are Elder Sun and the other disciples fine?’ Yuan pondered as he rode on the flying treasure with Elder Sun.

Although the Sect Leader didn’t go into details, he’d actually revealed a lot through his speech, most of them being subtle hints.

‘At first, neither Huang Xiao Li nor her family recognized me, and it didn’t seem like they were pretending, either. However, shortly after seeing me, they regained their memories of me. From this, I can assume that the people of this world don’t know Tian Yang until they meet him, which triggers memories of him.’

‘This begs the question… why is this happening? Why did they not have memories of Tian Yang until they saw me? Are their memories of Tian Yang being suppressed? For what reason?’

“You know…” Elder Sun suddenly started speaking, snapping Yuan out of his thoughts, “I noticed who you were staring at, and I recognized that young lady. She’s from our sect, isn’t she? Did something happen between you and her? A lover’s quarrel, perhaps?”

Yuan wasn’t too surprised that Elder Sun recognized Huang Xiao Li. After all, Huang Xiao Li was a talented disciple from a wealthy family, and Elder Sun recognized most disciples in the sect by spending most of her time in the Hunting Grounds, where most disciples go to train.

“Really? She’s a disciple of our sect? I really didn’t know. I looked at her because I thought she was pretty,” Yuan calmly responded.

“She’s not bad, but I’m prettier,” Elder Sun suddenly said, boasting about her own appearance.

Her conceited response left Yuan speechless for a moment.

“I never thought you to be that kind of individual, Elder Sun, but are you, by any chance, jealous that your own disciple is looking at another woman?” Yuan joked.

Elder Sun quickly sneered, “Who’d be jealous of you? You can look at all the women you want.”

They arrived at the Northern Stronghold shortly after, where they continued their search for Tian Yang. Despite being very confident that Tian Yang didn’t exist in this world, Yuan decided to keep silent and follow Elder Sun around.

After searching through the entire Northern Stronghold without finding Tian Yang, they moved on to the Eastern Stronghold.

“Looks like only the Central Stronghold is left,” Elder Sun sighed as they left the Eastern Stronghold empty-handed.

“What if Tian Yang isn’t actually in the Desolate Continent?” Yuan suddenly brought this time.

“Then we’ve wasted our time here, and we’ll immediately return to the sect,” Elder Sun calmly said.

“Isn’t it a waste to come all the way out here without achieving anything? I don’t want this trip to be a waste of time,” Yuan said.

“Then what do you have in mind?” Elder Sun asked.

Yuan smiled and said, “How about I train here a little?”

Elder Sun frowned and replied, “Training? At your level? You’re just a Spirit Grandmaster. Meanwhile, the weakest magical beast in the Desolate Continent is at the level of Spirit Lord.”

“It’s only just one realm of difference. I can handle it. Moreover, you’re here with me, Elder Sun. I’m sure my life won’t be in danger with you here.”

“Are you even hearing yourself? Just one realm of difference? If anyone else were here to hear that, they’d be incredibly offended by that statement.” Elder Sun shook her head at Yuan.

She continued before Yuan could respond, “But you’re right. Since I am here, you won’t be in danger. Alright, I’ll let you experience the difference between a Spirit Grandmaster and a Spirit Lord since that will be the quickest way to make you give up.”

“Thank you, Elder Sun.”

A few days later, Elder Sun left the Central Stronghold with a disappointed look on her face.

“I guess Tian Yang isn’t in the Desolate Continent. While there’s a chance he might be here, outside the strongholds, it’d be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. We don’t have the time for that.”

Elder Sun then brought Yuan back to the Southern Stronghold, where the magical beasts are between the level of Spirit Lord and Spirit King.

After looking around, Elder Sun found a first-level Spirit Lord magical beast and allowed Yuan to fight it.

‘He’ll probably give up after he realizes the difference between Spirit Grandmaster and Spirit Lord,’ Elder Sun thought to herself as she watched Yuan approach the magical beast.

While Elder Sun was confident in Yuan’s talents, she didn’t believe Yuan could fight magical beasts an entire realm above his cultivation.

“No matter how talented he is, there’s—”

Before Elder Sun could even finish her sentence, Yuan had defeated the magical beast in a single strike.

Elder Sun’s eyes widened with shock, and her jaw dropped to the ground.

‘Heavens! He killed a Spirit Lord magical beast just like that?! He even went for its weak spot! How did he even know its weak spot? Has he fought that type of magical beast before?’

After killing the magical beast, Yuan tossed its corpse inside his spatial ring.

“Let’s immediately go to the next one, Elder Sun,” Yuan returned to her side, acting like he’d only accomplished something ordinary.

‘I spent 10 million points to come here. I am not going back until I completely fill my spatial rings with points!’ Yuan thought to himself.

“O-Okay…” Elder Sun nodded in a dazed manner.

Over the next several days, Yuan constantly hunted magical beasts between the first and fourth levels of Spirit Lord.

“Are you satisfied yet?” Elder Sun asked him.

“Of course not. We’re just getting started. I want to be able to hunt Spirit Kings by the end of the month,” he declared.

“Wha—?! Spirit King?! That’s impossible!”

In response, Yuan retrieved a monster core he’d collected during the hunt and swallowed it right in front of Elder Sun’s face, bewildering her greatly.

“What the fuck are you doing, you crazy bastard!” she cried out loud.
