Chapter 3618: Divine Ore Meal
Grititi ran for over an hour nonstop, moving twice as fast as you would normally do in this place. However, even though he got a lot of energy and blood from the kills in the other region, there was a limit to how long they would last.
To make up for it, he also added his own Divine Energy to the mix. So, he partially used the energy from his core, which he could recover from the environment and Divine Stones, and partially used the energy from those he killed before.
Everything was going well, and Grititi was confident he could keep up that speed for the one-and-a-half day mentioned before when suddenly...
*Tuff!*
From the ground, several tentacles shot upwards without any warnings. They caught Grititi’s legs, quickly pulling him downwards. Grititi was shocked to see that. He has been very careful the entire time. His Divine Sense was always spread as far as he could. He could see everything in a two or so kilometer radius around him.
The ground, obviously, was a lot harder to see far down. After all, the ground itself acted as a barrier that the Divine Sense had to overcome. Nonetheless, Grititi could still see around 130 meters or so. He should have noticed that tentacles way before they came out of the ground, but in no moment did they appear in his Divine Sense.
’Death Style, Crescent Moon!’
Right as those tentacles appeared, Rean and Roan had already acted. Two slashes of Dark and Light Elements followed, cutting the tentacles on the base of the ground. Purple blood spilled everywhere as the cut tentacles wiggled. As for the rest in the ground, they immediately retreated as their owner ran away.
Grititi pushed away the tentacles wrapped around his legs, cursing out loud. "Fuck! These shit don’t appear inside my Divine Sense!" Then, several blood spears appeared, and he trashed those wiggling cut tentacles to shreds.
Rean approached him, a smile on his face. "There is no need to feel sad. Look! Weren’t you an amazing bait just now? That’s why we kept you around! You are doing a great job!"
Grititi’s Blood Spears turned in Rean’s direction, who just smiled back at him. A few meters behind, Royer’s hand shone with the same White Light that made his Soul almost explode when the twins’ group captured him. Royer’s message was obvious. Make a move, and I will detonate the Soul Power Bomb in your soul.
The Blood Spears returned to being just blood and entered Grititi’s body. He was angry but not angry enough to commit suicide there. "Fuck! Fine! I know that that’s my role in this group. I just need to keep running ahead, right? So be it!"
Rean laughed out loud, and they continued to follow Grititi from afar.
This kind of situation happened another four times in the next twelve hours, and as ready as Grititi made himself, he was usually caught by surprise. But then again, the twins, Celis or Kentucky, would always act and save his ass. That obviously hurt his pride a little.
Still, Grititi noticed something. ’Just... how can they move that fast? They almost match my own speed...’
Well, the twins actually held back. Otherwise, they would definitely move much faster.
’If these youngster, that bird, and that tree are already this strong, then just how strong is Royer?’ Grititi wondered. After all, Royer was the only Divinity Realm Expert from the twins’ group. Rean and Roan always called his Master, too. But then, he shook his head. He had already guessed that the twins’ group’s identity wasn’t simple, so there was no guarantee Royer was much stronger.
The hunger and thirst they felt continued to increase, though. It’s just that it was meaningless to drink or eat anything as those sensations wouldn’t disappear and alleviate, so they just ignored it and pressed forward.
The monsters that appeared didn’t seem anything too outlandish. There were no such things as a cheese monster. They found some underground creatures, like the one with the tentacles earlier. They also bumped into some surface and bird-type ones. A few had some weird shapes, but they still looked like monsters or some weird demon beasts at most.
Things changed a little after a day of running, unfortunately. Another bunch of monsters appeared ahead, and in everyone’s eyes, they looked like some kind of armadillo with spikes and scales... except for Kentucky. His hunger for metals was so big now that what he saw were a bunch of Divine Ores he kept inside the Dimensional Realm running towards him. "Food!"
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
Yet, he barely said those words when Rean, Roan, and Celis kicked and punched the top of his head.
Kentucky’s head fell to the ground, and his beak got stuck there for a moment before he pulled it out, angry. "What are you doing?!"
"Take a look again, idiot!" Roan spoke with a cold expression.
Only then did Kentucky notice. There was no Divine Ores coming in his direction anymore. They were all the same armadillo-like beasts the rest of the group was seeing. "Ehhh... Where are my Divine Ores?"
Roan snorted. "Hmph! You were hallucinating due to your hunger. But sure, go ahead, kill and eat those monsters in front. They were initially the Divine Ores you wanted to eat just a moment ago."
"Ahem..." Kentucky looked away. "Forget it. Who knows where they came from and where they had been."
Grititi was the first one to reach the range of those monsters. His Blood Spears appeared, and he attacked several of them at once.
*Bang, bang, bang, bang...*
The rest of the group also joined Grititi, and they massacred the monsters. Even Royer helped kill some, although he stayed more on the back and took some of the weaker ones. The effects of his Earth Shell Manifestation would still take years to disappear.
Elsie and Rifindio worked together, taking one or another. They actually worked fairly well after some time together.
Naturally, Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis did most of the work... after Grititi. They still held back quite a lot, making it look like Grititi was stronger, albeit not by much.
Once everything was taken care of, they continued. "Let’s go!"
