Death... and me

Chapter 3648: How Do They Ripe?

Chapter 3648: How Do They Ripe?

Another upgrade due to the Red Lightning. The Sun and Moon Obliteration worked by making both the Light and Dark Elements go chaotic, rejecting and fighting each other. Those two elements in Rean and Roan’s hands worked and supported each other perfectly, so the twins had to cause this chaos on purpose.

Now, Red Lightning had been added to the mix. The Red Lightning Element was already a highly volatile element in its own right, definitely many times more than Light and Dark Elements if you think about pure destructive power.

Their Light and Dark Elements were now carrying Red Lightning, so one could already imagine just how much more destructive it became!

The planet’s projection cracked all over, a Bright and Dark Red color coming out of the fissures, shining intensely. The cracks expanded, and from within, the explosion happened.

*BOOOM!*

Pieces of the planet’s projection flew everywhere, but thanks to Rifindio’s Blood Spears, he secured a safe area for Rean, Roan, and Kentucky to land. Celis then let go of his prison, and they ran forward. They still had to deal with the aftermath of the planet projection they destroyed on the way, but it was a lot easier than if they had to deal with the planet itself. It had to be destroyed.

"We are through! Hahaha!" Rean laughed while his senses checked the Yang Energy in the environment. "The path to the tree is mostly clean. Let’s use this chance and push forward fast!"

Indeed, they had no way to run before, but once the planet projection was destroyed, the behind it was clear. The celestial bodies were still falling, but that planet alone occupied a big area on its own. They still dealt with some comets and medium-sized asteroids, but nothing much problematic.

"We’re here!" Kentucky looked upwards.

Rean, Roan, and Celis jumped on Kentucky’s back. "Are you sure you want to do it?"

Kentucky nodded. "Gravity is still high, but I doubt it will increase if I try to fly. Whoever made this trial probably didn’t think someone would try to fly around the falling celestial bodies due to how hard it is to fly under all this chaos and gravity. If gravity does increase to prevent flight, I can at least land on the vines around the trunk, and we can make our way up from there."

Rifindio took a deep breath, changing into his own Camazotz Bat form... Well, he wasn’t a Camazotz Bat anymore, but he hadn’t come up with a name for his new race yet. "I will follow you from behind."

Kentucky narrowed his eyes. "It will be hard, and I will receive Rean, Roan, and Celis’ energies to help me."

Rifindio knew that. "Yes, and I will change back to my human form and land on your back later. However, I can still fly for a short while, and later on, this short time you didn’t carry me should make things easier for you to go slightly higher up, master."

Kentucky was happy to hear that. "Well said! Just follow the same path as me! Rean will guide both of us so we can dodge the celestial bodies. Roan and Celis will deflect the smaller ones we can’t dodge. Let’s go!"

Kentucky’s wings flapped with strong power, and he took off from the ground, gravity still weighing on him greatly. Nonetheless, he made full use of his sky energy and bloodline. Not to mention, he used Rean Enhancing Skill, the normal Light Element one, to make his wings even stronger.

Rifindio didn’t have all those advantages, but he did have his own Divine Energy and Regal Bloodline. His flight in this high-gravity environment wouldn’t last more than two or three minutes, but that was already a great help.

*Boom, boom, boom...*

The Celestial Bodies exploded below, right where they just took off from. It wasn’t because they dodged the previous ones that the shower of celestial bodies stopped.

"Fly 110 meters there, now go left and up. Dodge to the right and press forward. You will see one of those planet projections coming from behind the sun on the right. Be careful with its gravity; it also affects your flights. When the planet appears, fly around it and use its gravity to slingshot you. I’ll tell you when and the direction."

Rean continued to guide Kentucky ahead, and Rifindio right behind. In the first minute, it was already possible to see how tired Rifindio was. Even Kentucky showed some signs of fatigue. Nonetheless, Rifindio didn’t stop and followed each of Rean’s commands. Kentucky and Rifindio were even forced to split several times, but as long as Rifindio did as Rean said, they would join back together again.

Two and a half minutes and Rifindio was almost passing out. But before that, Kentucky flew below him, shouting. "Change back and come on my back. You did a great job!"

Rifindio didn’t waste time and did as Kentucky said. He fell on Kentucky’s back in his human form, who quickly moved away as more of those asteroids were coming in that direction.

"There they are," Roan spoke, looking at the Astral Tree’s Trunk. After a little more than ten minutes of flight, he saw a small group of seven experts working their way up the vines. They worked quite well together, visibly experienced in that kind of team work.

That group, naturally, also noticed Kentucky and the others, looking shocked. "What the hell?! How can he fly?!"

Kentucky would usually laugh and make some joke at those words. However, he didn’t have the time, strength, or mood for it. With Rifindio back, the weight on his back increased again, so flying became even harder.

Rifindio refused to become a burden and quickly worked on absorbing Divine Stones while using his Blood Spears as well as he could. He was pretty weak, but he could take one or another easier task to alleviate Roan and Celis’ job.

"Ignore them!" One of the guys on the tree spoke, obviously their leader. "The portal won’t disappear just because they are ahead! Focus on getting up! There, another asteroid is coming! Runriu, you are up!"

Roan and his group did the same. They didn’t have time to pay attention to those guys, and since they didn’t intend to cause trouble for them, Kentucky could focus on just flying higher.

Kentucky’s flight lasted fifteen minutes straight, flying several hundreds of kilometers up. Yet, that was only enough to bring them halfway up the Astral Tree. He could have gone further, but that would mean he would run completely out of energy, and his body would be too fatigued to make anything else later.

Kentucky landed on one of the vines wrapped around the tree, quickly looking below while gasping for air. After all this, they managed to pass ahead of the group that started this event, but they weren’t far from each other. If they didn’t move, both groups would eventually meet here in just a few minutes.

Rifindio, however, looked up. "I don’t want to ask the obvious, but I have to. Those Crystal Pods will only give Starlight Energy when they are ripe, right? How exactly do you even make them ripe?"

Celis wasn’t concerned. "Don’t worry about that. They are already under the process of ripening."
