Chapter 3658: Personal Irritation
Rifindio felt as though he had been struck by lightning. It would be so much easier to simply give him away. He is no match to any of the twins’ group members, not to mention how important the Starlight Fruits were to them; he knew that. And yet, not only did they not choose to give him away, they took Pardikan’s words personally. Even Roan seemed to take it personally.
"Guys, I..." Rifindio didn’t know what to say.
Too bad that emotional feeling didn’t last long.
"If we kill him, the Universe F956 owner will probably send everything after us, so it is safer to get rid of you guys instead," Roan concluded.𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Rifindio’s mouth twitched. Oh, yeah... How could Roan really care? That was too good to be true.
Rean almost burst into laughter. Roan could hide it well from Rifindio, but how could he not see through it? Even Kentucky and Celis knew that wasn’t the whole reason... just part of it. Roan would never admit the other part, of course.
Pardikan and the others obviously couldn’t care less. They got close, and just like before, they gathered all the laws they could. Rean’s formation hindered that, but it wasn’t foolproof. The formation itself was affected by the power suppression of the Golden Palace. With that, they managed to intervene with the frozen space and move again.
"Going somewhere?" Roan’s Scythe appeared and slashed out.
’Red Death, Death Cross!’
Crohei gritted his teeth and used his wind element and laws to defend himself. A barrier of wind appeared, strengthened by the laws, before it burst.
A shockwave of air, laws, and Divine Energy came out. That wasn’t all. Within that barrier, hundreds of tiny green insects spread, several falling on Roan’s body.
*Swish!*
Too bad that the shockwave did little to stop Roan. He didn’t hold back, his laws gathered behind his scythes, and they slashed through everything!
Crohei’s eyes opened wide! His wind barrier should have been enough to stop Roan... if he couldn’t use laws. Yet not only could Roan use laws, but he controlled two of them! Two Major Laws!
Crohei was cut in four parts, still not believing what he saw. He couldn’t understand how Roan could use laws with that cultivation. But then, he faintly smiled. His insects had landed on Roan, so he knew what would happen. All the insects that landed on Roan penetrated his skin, and even Rean’s System Armor did little to stop them. They all burst inside, releasing a terrifying poison in Roan’s bloodstream. "Y-You will come down with me..."
"Is that so?" Roan didn’t seem convinced.
’Life Style, Purification!’
Well, his insects would be good against most experts, but not this one. As Crohei’s consciousness faded, he saw with his Divine Sense how all the poison he was so proud of was completely eliminated. "How could that be..." He would never get that answer.
Several Feather Blades came out of Kentucky’s body, his bloodline included inside, assaulting the Pardikan and the others. Celis’s vines materialized around the group before they could move much too.
’Yin Yang Sky Feather Blades!’
’Divine Energy Draining Prison!’
Rifindio sighed and joined the battle, aiming at Pardikan straight. Since it came to this, he might as well finish this fight. Besides, he definitely had no need to show mercy to Pardikan after what he heard. His Blood Spears, now with a tinge of his Regal Bloodline, pierced through!
The group work of Pardikan and the others helped little with their chances. They were already quite good to be able to move inside Rean’s formation with their teamwork, but they couldn’t use their full power. Even if they did, chances were they would lose or be forced to flee anyway. Well, the chances of fleeing this time were zero.
It only lasted a few tens of seconds, and everything was over. The twins’ group didn’t kill everyone, though. They left Citchi and Pardikan alive, although they did destroy their Dantians. Those two were now back to being simple mortals.
Roan grabbed Citchi by the neck, his eyes cold. "Now then, how exactly do we pluck the Starlight Fruits?"
Citchi coughed out blood, her expression blank. She never expected she would lose her cultivation like this. No, she probably wouldn’t survive either. Even if she did, would it be worth to stay alive? Cultivate everything again? She would likely just commit suicide.
But first, she had to understand something. "H-How... *cough, cough...* I thought your strength was based on the formations..."
Roan’s Divine Energy entered her head, going straight for her soul. "The formation made things simpler, but we didn’t need it to get rid of you guys. As to why we are this strong, let’s just say I train a lot... and I make sure the idiots train a lot as well."
*Arrrghhhh!*
She felt intense pain as Roan read her memories. He didn’t care about damage at all, going deeper and deeper. Well, she was lucky that Roan didn’t have an interest in anything else other than the information about the Starlight Fruits. When he found it, his Scythe slashed out, finishing Citchi for good.
Rean, Kentucky, and Celis also finished their opponents with ease, and none of them felt sorry for their enemies. To say they should simply sacrifice one of their friends was not something they take lightly.
The only one still alive was Pardikan, who Rifindio now held upside down. "Say, do you truly know nothing about this chosen thing?"
Pardikan had lost his arms, and even worse, he looked dry... dry of both Divine Energy and blood! Rifindio and Celis drained and sucked everything out. "Hehe... I wish I knew... *cough...* But above all else, I wish I had never become a chosen one to start with. I knew this would give me trouble..." Following that, his consciousness faded... and he died.
Rean waved his hand, and all the Spatial Runes stopped working. "Tch... I used quite a few materials to make this formation, and it had to be made quite hastily, so most runes already broke. In the end, we still know nothing about the chosen."
"With Rifindio here, we will eventually find something," Celis commented.
"By the way..." Rifindio looked away, feeling a little embarrassed. "Thanks for siding with me."
Kentucky pointed at Roan. "He just didn’t want Triaglia on his ass."
"Shut up!" Roan exclaimed. "Let’s go collect some Starlight Fruits."
