Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4165: Putting Up A Deal

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master stared at the realm pill wide-eyed. He took a step forward and walked out of the altar to the throne., coming closer toward Davis, but Illumina blocked his path, causing him to come to a stop.

Still, he gazed at the pill with intensity as though he was looking at a long-lost lover.

He was indeed aware of this pill. After all, there were other cultivators who were apparently called Candidates, having obtained this realm pill. It was witnessed by the denizens of that world, so it should be true. Still, who would believe such a good thing existed? Even if it existed, how could it still be available?

He heard the Divine Emperor of Death's three wives got the majority of the pills. Hence, some people were of the opinion that it was thanks to these pills that he and his wives were all powerful.

No one could verify the authenticity of this statement, so it was thought of as bogus and didn't spread wide.

But for the first time, the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master felt he was witnessing a Realm Pill!

Naturally, he couldn't see through the pill since it was sealed. However, having seen many pills throughout his lifetime, he was sure this was an extraordinary pill. He was also an Alchemist but not an expert, only having passed the Low-Level Autarch Grade Alchemist Exam barely.

Nonetheless, he didn't want to be duped, so he couldn't help but ask.

"It matters not what kind of pill this is, but are you really sure that it can increase my prowess by two levels?"

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master felt that was the most important thing. As long as he could become a supreme genius of a higher caliber, then his status and opportunities would be entirely different when he ascends to the Upper Realms.

He helped the Divine Emperor of Death and became a fugitive? So what? With this newfound strength, he would be able to hold onto his own and even claim some random celestial body out there outside the Upper Realms for himself and reign like a king.

He was more hopeful with this pill than not having this pill. It made the difference between heaven and earth when walking out of the realm. It also made him wonder what if he got the pill and still was a Realm Master.

Wouldn't he be super powerful? He guessed not since he would need to ascend or be forced into the void.

"How do you think I'm this powerful?"

Davis raised his brows before he gestured at Illumina, "Despite being only a King-Tier Beast, how do you think she's powerful enough to face the Ghostly Crow idiot?"

"…" The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master was unable to refute any of his claims.

A King-Tier Empyrean Beast would usually only be three or four levels higher in prowess. That was the average King-Tier Empyrean Beast out there. Ultimately, they would be five levels higher if they were a variant. However, the rabbit in front of him was overpowered. He could sense that she was way more powerful than that from the dense undulations she released.

She at least had a prowess that was seven levels higher by his calculations. However, she was now Level Two Empyrean Beast, meaning she could have done better against the Ghostly Crow Realm Master if she had fought now.

Even if she couldn't compare to him, she would be totally capable of killing nearly all the Grand Elders. He had heard about her feats in other realms as well.

She was currently considered the number three dangerous woman in the Lower Realms. The first two were rogue cultivators who followed a wicked way of cultivation. They were twins and were Level Nine Autarchs who reached the peak of this layer in prowess. It was unknown if they were still present or had ascended since it was more than a hundred thousand years since they were last seen.

Davis saw that he was causing the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master to be nearly convinced, judging by his expression. He knew the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill was something that even Autarchs would go crazy for, and that was why he always kept one on hold without getting it diluted.

After all, it was providing two levels of prowess and an enormous amount of energy capacity at the Autarch Stage. Which cultivator wouldn't want it? They would even kill their parents for it if they were highly ambitious and ruthless.

Nonetheless, he nonchalantly continued.

"I'm still waiting for the Imagery Stone from him, but I'm hoping he won't do it so I can wreck his entire realm in ten years' time or even earlier. You tell me. How can I release my frustrations and make a profit if people are afraid to offend me?"

He genuinely asked, causing the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master to blink.

Davis continued, "If you agree to this deal, this pill will be yours when I am able to leave this realm, which is around nine years and nine months away. As for the ten thousand-year period, if you and everyone else want to remain here, you will act like you still own the realm, but in truth, it will be in our control. If we are found out, you can act like you were mind-controlled. This excuse would sell since we have Calypsea, who is perfectly capable of rattling you out of the Realm Core's binding, and Illumina here, who is capable of illusion arts. Besides, you have me, the calamity who fought Autarch Elluro Coldwing and still survived without a hint of injury. Who is going to question you if you feigned innocence?"

Davis scoffed before he gazed at the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master, his eyes narrowed.

"I believe I have brought up enough benefits for you. The rest is up to you to decide."

"…"

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master's expression was complicated.

He was indeed highly interested. This pill cannot be worth a Realm Core. It was all the more the case since the Divine Emperor of Death wanted it even though it was believed Anarchic Divergents couldn't bind it. This let him know that there was more to it than meets the eye.

However, no one could excavate the secrets of the Realm Core, not even the Realm Master, so he didn't have any use for it. Past a certain point, he wouldn't gain any advantages from the Realm Core, so the sensible thing to do would be to offer the Realm Core.

"You only need the Realm Core, right? Not the realm?"

"Precisely." Davis nodded lightly, "The realm is of little use to me. You still claim ownership of the lands and the skies except this place, the Whispering Wildlands Peninsula. This region will belong to me, starting from the peninsula and moving to the misty ocean outside. Still, I'm not trying to evict you since everything will belong back to you in ten thousand years. As I said, I only want to rent the Realm Core, and if you're not willing to live under me, leave this entire region and return in ten thousand years."

"…"

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master went silent. He seemed to be thinking.

"…" The Seventh Grand Elder looked dumbfounded.

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master was actually considering the deal!?

"No need to come to a decision this soon. I know this is a big thing for you and your ancestry."

Davis's eyes turned pitch black, "I'll give you a month's time. You could inform all the forces of the world, ready your defenses, and wait for us, or you could welcome us with open hands. It's your choice, Whispering Wildlands Realm Master. I won't force you."

He turned around and left.

Illumina literally glared at the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master to agree to this deal before she also turned around and followed him away.

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master's expression sank greatly.

The Divine Emperor of Death was that confident, leaving without a hint of worry when it was highly possible he could just bring the entire world against him, as the other party said? Wouldn't the smartest thing to do would be to not give him time and force a deal right here and right now?

Yet the Divine Emperor of Death did exactly the opposite, leaving him speechless and angered because he, the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master, didn't seem to be even recognized as a threat.

However, this action was what rattled him greatly, making him feel that he wouldn't be a match for the Divine Emperor of Death even if he was still the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master.

From what he heard, that apocalyptic flame spirit known as Calypsea would certainly be able to bar his connection with the Realm Core, so he would not be able to fight with the rabbit since he was just a Level Four Autarch with a prowess that was four levels higher!

Even if he raised a level quickly, he didn't think he could win.

So, if he couldn't even face the subordinate with a high win rate, how could he face the master?

But if he accepted the deal, what would the consequences be? Will the Heaven's Warriors leave him alive? If someone with the Transcendent Truth Eyes popped up, he was done!

It made him feel helpless, but greed also swelled within him.

The more hopeless the situation was, the more it seemed like taking the pill was the right answer since it ultimately helped him become even more powerful than someone like Autarch Elluro Coldwing!

Even if he became a known fugitive, he could still live like an emperor in the Lower Realms!
