Chapter 2159 – A Single Slash Topples a Sect
The mature beauty smiled charmingly, her eyes bright and her figure blazing hot.
She was the proprietor of the Fire Cauldron City branch of Heaven’s Net, Madam Cheng Bi!
She was just a Transcendent, not yet an immortal, but Heaven’s Net had a lofty status, with bases throughout Billowing Blue Realm. As the manager of its Fire Cauldron City branch, Madam Cheng Bi naturally had an extraordinary status.
“I’m here to buy information,” said Su Yi. “A’Ling, give her our deposit.”
A’Ling obediently took out a bronze box and passed it to Madam Cheng Bi.
Madam Cheng Bi opened it up and had a look. Her beautiful eyes instantly lit with a strange light.
There was a stalk of immortal medicine in the box!
In a remote place like Fire Cauldron City, immortal medicines were extremely rare and precious.
“I just don’t know if Heaven’s Net has the information I’m after or not,” Su Yi said calmly.
Madam Cheng Bi smiled and gestured for Su Yi and A’Ling to follow. “No one in Fire Cauldron City is better informed than Heaven’s Net! This way, please!”
A’Ling couldn’t help but find this surprising. Is this what they mean when they say, ‘money makes ghosts turn millstones’?
But the thought that they were spending a stalk of immortal medicine just to buy information made A’Ling’s heart ache.
…
The highest floor of the tower, a spot near the railing.
Su Yi sat quietly in his wheelchair. He could see Solitary Moon Mountain in the distance. That was the territory of the Sky Fire Yao Sect.
After escorting Su Yi here, A’Ling left quickly on Su Yi’s orders. She was going to flatten the Sky Fire Yao Sect on her own!
It was a crazy thing to do. After all, she’d only just stepped into the Profound Dao, and she was only in the Profound Illumination Realm.
In stark contrast, the Sky Fire Yao Sect was the greatest faction in Fire Cauldron City. It was home to countless yao cultivators, and it had multiple yao immortals to oversee things!
For a Profound Illumination Realm cultivator to attack them was no different from suicide.
But Su Yi wasn’t at all worried.
“This is our house brew, Blue Plum Wine. It has a highly distinctive flavor. Please, try it.” Madam Cheng Bi arrived with a jade tray laden with wine, cups, fruit, and refreshments.
She leaned over, placed the tray on the table beside Su Yi, and filled his cup.
Su Yi stared into the distance and said calmly, “You needn’t probe. I’ll be perfectly honest with you: I’m completely paralyzed right now. I can’t even lift a finger, let alone a cup of wine.”
Madam Cheng Bi froze, stunned. A little while passed before she said, “My apologies. I truly didn’t realize that your injuries were so severe.”
“No need for pleasantries,” said Su Yi. “I’m going to ask you a few questions. All you need to do is answer them honestly.”
Madam Cheng Bi’s eyes flashed. “If it involves certain top-secret matters, I’m afraid a single stalk of immortal medicine won’t…”
“Relax,” interrupted Su Yi. “Immortal medicines, that’s all. So long as you can provide satisfactory answers, I promise you won’t leave disappointed.”
Madam Cheng Bi’s spirits soared, and she flashed him a charming smile. “Since you’ve been so straightforward with me, go right ahead. I’ll tell you everything I know!”
Su Yi thought for a moment, then asked his first question.
……
It was unclear when, but leaden clouds had gathered beneath the dome of heaven, blotting out the sunlight. Everything was dark and overcast, and it seemed like it might rain hard at any moment.
When A’Ling left Heaven’s Net, she immediately discovered that numerous people had gathered there.
“She’s come out!”
“She’s the one who killed all those yao experts in the city earlier!”
“Where’s the guy in the wheelchair?”
“No idea. I’m shocked she dared to leave the tower. Isn’t she afraid to die?”
…Discussions arose on all sides.
A’Ling pursed her lips, disregarded them, and continued on her way. Numerous others followed her, most of them yao and demon cultivators.
There was no shortage of human cultivators either, but most were the yao and demons’ servants and flunkies.
A’Ling paid them no heed. Instead, she looked up at the sky. She was a little concerned about her Big Brother Xiao’s safety.
She knew better than anyone how bad his condition was. He couldn’t even lift a finger. If the people of Heaven’s Net had ill intentions… the consequences would be dire!
A’Ling silently made up her mind and picked up the pace. I’ve got to hurry up and flatten the Sky Fire Yao Sect as soon as possible!
On their way to the city, Su Yi told her how to go about destroying the Sky Fire Yao Sect. A’Ling couldn’t help but feel nervous, but she wasn’t afraid.
Just ten minutes later, A’Ling reached Solitary Moon Mountain and stood before the gates of the Sky Fire Yao Sect.
“Stop! What are you doing here, you lowly human scum?”
Some of the outer sect disciples were watching over the gates. All of them were yao cultivators.
When they saw A’Ling, a young human woman, they paused, briefly stunned, before berating her without the slightest politeness. This wasn’t the sort of place a lowly human could visit as she pleased!
Dense clouds hung over the air. Heaven and earth were shrouded in darkness.
A’Ling silently took measure of the time, then drew her bone spear with hesitation.
Then, she gazed up at the peak and said icily, “My name is A’Ling, and I’ve come here today to flatten this place!”
She spoke slowly and clearly, her voice full of firm conviction.
The guards’ eyes widened. Has she gone insane?
Clang!
Before they could respond, A’Ling leaped into the air and attacked. Her spear struck like lightning, piercing the sky.
At that moment, a thunderclap went off in the dense clouds overhead, booming throughout the surrounding area.
This downpour had been brewing for a long time now. As the thunder boomed, the rain came pouring down.
As the curtain of rain fell, desperate cries rang out. Blood splattered, only for the rain to instantly wash it away.
The ten-plus outer sect disciples of the Sky Fire Yao Sect were merely Spirit Dao cultivators. How could they possibly have been a match for A’Ling?
All of them died in the blink of an eye.
The people who’d followed A’Ling saw it all, and they were unwittingly gobsmacked. She seriously dared kill members of the Sky Fire Yao Sect!?
Kaboom!
Thunder boomed, and the rain poured with increasing intensity. Thunder ran rampant, like silver serpents dancing madly amidst the dark clouds.
The entire Sky Fire Yao Sect was startled into action.
Meanwhile, in a grand hall built at the highest point of Solitary Moon Peak.
“Investigate! No matter who they are, whoever dared to kill our disciples in the Demon Crow Mountains must pay!” a yao immortal roared in fury.
They’d only just received word that the disciples they’d sent to search the Demon Crow Mountains had all died in Grassy Creek Village. Everyone in the sect was furious.
But then, an urgent voice resounded from beyond the hall.
“Patriarch, a lowly human fought her way to our gates, and she even killed some of our outer-sect disciples!”
The higher-ups gathered in the hall were astonished. Since when did lowly humans get so brazen?
“Where is she from? What is her cultivation?” someone couldn’t help but ask.
The elderly servant delivering the report said hurriedly, “I’m not sure of her origins. All I know is that she’s in the Profound Illumination Realm.”
The Profound Illumination Realm!? The gathered higher-ups found this incomparably absurd, even laughable.
The yao immortal who’d spoken earlier slammed the table in fury. “What need was there to report something so trivial? All of you are worthless!”
The other higher-ups were furious too.
A lowly human of the Profound Illumination Realm, that’s all. Just kill her and be done with it. What need was there to deliver a report?
But then, a startling thunderclap went off, and a streak of blood-red sword qi exploded into being.
It was like the light of the apocalypse, tearing through the dome of heaven to descend upon the world below.
The entirety of Solitary Moon Mountain was bathed in stinging blood-red light, and an indescribably terrifying sword force swept out like a windstorm.
The higher-ups gathered in the hall were startled. All of them looked outside the building.
There, they saw blood-red sword qi rising into the heavens, tearing through the sky as it descended upon Solitary Moon Mountain.
It was boundlessly vast, like a blood-red galaxy from beyond the nine heavens pouring onto the world below. It crushed the clouds, shattered the sky, and descended with furious might.
Everyone freaked out.
……
The highest floor of Heaven’s Net, near the railing.
“There’s one other thing. I’d like to ask about someone called Immortal Lady Cang Ning,” said Su Yi.
Madam Cheng Bi had been quite cooperative. After asking her numerous questions, he’d gained a rough understanding of the Billowing Blue Realm’s current situation.
Outside the tower, it was pouring rain, and the skies rumbled with thunder. It was as if a curtain of darkness had covered heaven and earth.
From his spot near the railing, Su Yi could clearly see just how grand the downpour was.
“Immortal Lady Cang Ning?” Madam Cheng Bi’s beautiful eyes focused. She seemed a bit surprised.
But just as she was about to say something…
A dazzling streak of blood-red sword qi rose into the heavens amidst the curtain of pouring rain!
Its terrifying power cleaved through the clouds and severed the skies. Despite the distance, the sight of it made Madam Cheng Bi stiffen, and her expression shifted dramatically.
“What terrifying sword qi!!” Madam Cheng Bi exclaimed. “Is a god or immortal out to get the Sky Fire Yao Sect?”
She could tell that the blood-red sword qi originated from Solitary Moon Mountain, the territory of the Sky Fire Yao Sect!!
Su Yi, however, was perfectly calm. His expression didn’t even ripple. He naturally knew that this was A’Ling’s work!
All of Fire Cauldron City was startled. Who knew how many experts’ hearts quivered?
That sword qi was truly just far too terrifying.
Boom!
And when the sword qi descended…
The one-hundred-thousand-foot slopes of Solitary Moon Mountain split down the midline like a block of tofu.
The mountain was covered in an immortal-level formation, as well as all manner of ancient buildings, but all of them were destroyed beneath that terrifying sword qi.
The sect’s experts, from the mightiest of yao immortals to the ordinary disciples, fell like grass beneath a scythe. Their souls scattered instantaneously.
The bisected halves of the mountain collapsed with a bang, stirring up a cloud of dust.
The sword qi tore open a massive, immeasurably deep chasm in the ground, and it extended far into the distance.
All of Fire Cauldron City swayed violently, stirring up countless commotions. Terrified shrieks, panicked roars, and sobs rose and fell in waves.
The whole city was in chaos!
There was even a perfectly straight rift through the dark clouds overhead. The sunlight poured through the chasm, stinging the eyes and illuminating everything in all directions.
It was still pouring rain, so the skies of Fire Cauldron City were a magnificent sight: half sunshine, half downpour.
A’Ling stood alone amidst it all, one hand gripping her spear, the other gripping an Edict of Profound Gathering. Her beautiful face looked a bit dazed.
A single slash was enough to eradicate the entire Sky Fire Yao Sect?
