Global Beast Mastery: Only I Can See the Hints
Chapter 593 - 593: It’s Just Good LuckNate hesitated for a moment as he looked at Charles, cautiously asking, “Charles, are you sure you want to take the left path?”
Charles nodded with complete certainty. He understood why Nate was hesitant and offered a brief explanation:
“Don’t worry, just follow me. Unless something unexpected happens, we’ll be the first ones to leave the maze.”
Zara, who had been following Charles the whole time, didn’t hesitate for a second. She simply followed him, continuing on.
Nate exchanged glances with his companion. After a brief moment of hesitation, they chose to trust Charles.
After all, without Charles, they would have been kicked out of the secret realm by the talented Beast Masters of the Haunted Marsh long ago. Moreover, Charles seemed confident, which gave them a spark of hope.
If they could leave the maze before all the talented Beast Masters of the Haunted Marsh, and leave those arrogant Beast Masters dumbfounded, that would feel so satisfying!
Meanwhile, outside the secret realm, Everett, a level-nine Beast Master from the Ancient Academy, frowned and said uncertainly:
“He picked the right path? It must be luck. I don’t believe Charles can always have such good luck with his choices!”
Other level-six Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh had tried every method to explore the maze and find the correct path out, while Charles had done nothing at all.
There was no way he could leave the maze before the talented Beast Masters of the Haunted Marsh!
With this thought, Everett continued to watch.
When Charles and his group reached the second fork in the road, Everett’s eyes widened. He stared intently at the scene in the air, determined not to miss any details.
He wanted to see how Charles figured out which path was the correct one.
But what confused him was that Charles didn’t even observe or hesitate. Without pausing for a second, he walked straight down the left path again.
Everett couldn’t help but laugh, saying, “I thought Charles had some special method, but it turns out he’s just guessing!”
Callum, who was beside Everett, frowned as he heard the mocking tone in Everett’s voice.
He wanted to say something, but he had also witnessed Charles’ actions. It really did look like Charles was just randomly choosing a path, without any particular method.
Compared to the other talented Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh, Charles was utterly ordinary. There was no way he could compete with them.
Everett noticed the frown on Callum’s face and immediately became smug, saying sarcastically:
“What kind of genius Beast Master could possibly come from a backward and remote place like the Abyssal Depths? They might have a bit of talent, but they’re nowhere near the level of the students from the Ancient Academy!”
Callum replied coolly, “Who was it that severely injured Flynn?”
Everett instantly shot Callum a glare. He couldn’t help but glance at Flynn and muttered under his breath, “Useless!”
His voice was quiet, but Flynn, who was not far away, could hear it clearly.
Flynn’s face twisted in bitterness, deeply regretting his actions. He thought to himself, had he known better, he wouldn’t have provoked Charles. Now, it seemed that his image in the eyes of Everett, the level-nine Beast Master, would forever be marked as that of a failure.
As time passed, the scene in the air continued to shift. Many of the talented Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh had gradually moved deeper into the core areas of the maze and were nearing the exit.
Normally, the Beast Masters outside the secret realm would focus on the talented Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh who were advancing deeper into the maze. But at this moment, all of them were intently watching Charles’ progress.
Each of their faces displayed utter surprise, with expressions full of disbelief, as if they were witnessing something utterly impossible.
Many of them instinctively said, “Oh my God! Is this real?”
“Charles is about to catch up to those talented level-six Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh!”
“Ever since he picked up the pace, every path he’s chosen has been the right one!”
“Am I dreaming? How is he doing this?”
The Beast Masters from the Abyssal Depths were getting excited, while the Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh fell into stunned silence, their mouths agape as they watched Charles advancing rapidly on the screen. They didn’t know what to say.
Every step Charles took seemed to crush their hearts, making their breathing grow more rapid.
This shouldn’t be happening!
Others had been trying every possible method, desperately exploring the maze to find the correct path, while Charles?
Apart from fighting a few Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh, it didn’t seem like he had done anything special, did it?
Now, those hardworking Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh were close to finding the maze’s exit, while Charles, in such a short amount of time, had caught up to them.
This was utterly unacceptable!
Many of the Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh, watching the scene, couldn’t help but shout:
“This isn’t normal! Charles definitely has something wrong with him!”
“How could every path he picks be the right one?!”
“This is impossible!”
“Dammit, is his luck really that good?”
The discussions and shouts from the Beast Masters of the Haunted Marsh outside the secret realm quickly reached Everett’s ears. His expression turned dark as well, as he hadn’t expected Charles to be moving this fast.
At first, he had thought that Charles was simply relying on luck, but now, he had to change his mind. He began to wonder if Charles was using some method that even he, as a level-nine Beast Master, couldn’t recognize.
Everett took a deep breath and stared intently at Charles in the footage.
As for Callum, his expression was also one of unease, filled with surprise and confusion. However, unlike Everett, he hoped Charles would continue to perform well.
Callum slowly turned to look at Everett, smiling as he said, “Tsk, tsk, tsk. Someone was just mocking Charles earlier, and now you’re not laughing anymore?”
Everett snorted coldly and said in a low voice, “What’s the rush? Charles hasn’t left the maze yet! Maybe he’ll make a mistake soon and start going in circles!”
Inside the secret realm, Nate and his companion wore expressions of disbelief. They had been following Charles the whole time and hadn’t encountered any dead ends. They had been advancing quickly without issue.
What puzzled Nate even more was that Charles seemed to always know the correct path. Every time he chose a road, it had never been wrong!
Nate’s mind was filled with questions, and he just couldn’t figure out how Charles was doing it!
Finally, they reached another fork in the road. As before, Charles didn’t pause at all. Without any hesitation, he chose the right path.
Nate could no longer hold back and was about to ask Charles about it.
But just then, an unusual sound came from behind them.
Charles immediately stopped in his tracks, drew his [black gold long knife], and signaled for the others to prepare for battle.
Soon after, a group of more than a dozen level-six Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh appeared not far behind them, discussing something intensely.
Their voices reached Charles’ group:
“I told you, this is the right path. If you follow me, we’ll definitely leave the maze before anyone else!”
“We need to go left from here. The exit should be close!”
“The [Giant Venomous Mosquito] I released earlier disappeared to the right. There must be dangerous ferocious beasts there!”
Soon, the discussion ceased abruptly. The Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh noticed Charles and his group, instantly halting their steps and becoming alert.
The faces of the talented Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh were filled with confusion and surprise. One of them whispered:
“These people look unfamiliar. Are they Beast Masters from the Abyssal Depths?”
“How could they be ahead of us?”
“Doesn’t matter, let’s deal with them first! Prepare for battle!”
Charles didn’t hesitate for a second. He whispered urgently, “Run!”
He immediately increased his speed to the maximum, quickly retreating down the right path. No matter how skilled he was in combat, he knew he couldn’t possibly defeat a dozen level-six Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh!
Zara, Nate, and another level-six Beast Master from the Abyssal Depths reacted swiftly and followed Charles closely.
Seeing Charles and his group retreat, a few of the talented Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh immediately attempted to chase after them.
However, the one who had spoken first stopped them.
James Connor, a level-six Beast Master from the Beast Sect who had contracted the mystical beast [Giant Venomous Mosquito Queen], waved his hand dismissively and said:
“Don’t bother with them. They’re heading in the wrong direction, and there are dangerous mystical beasts there!”
“Our main priority now is to leave the maze and find the exact location of the Divine Beast. We can’t waste time!”
Compared to the Divine Beast, the few Beast Masters from the Abyssal Depths weren’t of much importance.
Soon, under James Connor’s leadership, the group of ten or so level-six Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh began walking down the left path.
Minutes later, James Connor, his face dark with frustration, returned to the fork in the road with seven of the Haunted Marsh’s talented Beast Masters.
James Connor cursed, “Damn it! The left path has hallucinating ferocious beasts. Not only did they confuse my [Giant Venomous Mosquito], but they also severely injured several of our people, leaving them unable to continue exploring!”
“Hurry! We need to speed up. The Beast Masters from the Abyssal Depths just got lucky. The path they fled down is the correct one!”
“Catch up with them and deal with those lucky fools!”
In his view, the Beast Masters from the Abyssal Depths who had fled were merely lucky. No one could be faster than him. His mystical beast was highly effective at exploring the maze!
Meanwhile, outside the secret realm, the Beast Masters from both the Abyssal Depths and the Haunted Marsh, watching the footage of Charles, were once again shocked.
