Guide to raise my cutie husbands
Chapter 1757 - 1757: Try to keep a low profile for a whileShen Li also took a look at Kong Pili. He had heard from Yu Dong that Kong Pili seemed to be getting close to Lin Cui when the little mer was living with the rest of the Kong family.
Back then he thought that it was just normal friendship but it seemed like there was more than that.
“Alright,” Shen Li went inside the house to prepare. Not only did the mers take out the strawberries but they also took out the cookies and small cakes that Yu Dong asked sister Zi to make.
They brought sweet and delicious looking snacks out of the kitchen for they were worried that Kong Pili might end up feeling even more dejected.
“Wow! These sweets looks so good!” unlike Kong Pili who had a special reason to come to look for Yu Dong, Kong Li was much more simple minded. She looked at the beautiful looking cakes on the table and her eyes brightened with glee as she had never seen anything like this before.
“These are called cupcakes,” said Yu Mai as he picked up a butterscotch cupcake and took a nibble from it. He said, “This one is my favourite. What about you? Which one do you like?”
“I like this one,” Kong Li who had already eaten three of the chocolate ones, raised her hands and showed the fourth chocolate cupcake to Yu Mai. She said to him, “It tastes really, really good. What about the one that you ate eating? Do you want to exchange it?”
“Sure,”
The two kids were engrossed in their own conversation without bothering about anything. Kong Pili who was sitting beside Kong Li looked at the cupcakes and although she was disappointed on not seeing Lin Cui, she couldn’t resist the temptation of the sweet delights and picked up a lemon cupcake.
“Hmm?” as she bit into the smooth cream, Kong Pili was left stunned. How can there be something so sweet and sour? Its really good!
Shen Li saw that there was no trouble and turned to look at Chen Mi before asking him to arrange for a few more dishes. As they had guests the dishes that they had made would not be enough.
“Sorry for the trouble,” Madam Kong said with a light sigh. “My daughter seemed to have gotten quite attached to the kids of your family.” she did not mention any name as she knew that it might cause even more trouble for Lin Cui in case the words were to get out.
“It’s no trouble,” Yu Dong smiled as she placed the cups of tea in front of Madam Kong and Guo Zian.
As Madam Kong was used to seeing Yu Dong dote on her husbands, she didn’t remark on her serving the guests. Instead it was Yu Dong who looked at Madam Kong and asked in a light voice, “I hope no one came to look for you, Madam Kong. Everything was dealt with no trouble right?”
Madam Kong nodded and replied, “There were a few people who tried to cause trouble for us but they were caught and thrown in the prison. It was only when they stopped causing trouble that I brought my family out. If not I would have stayed put.”
Speaking of that matter, Madam Kong still felt terrified.
Fortunately, she and her mother had some connections so they were able to get out of trouble without any problem. And they also got some security to protect them.
If not who knows what would have happened to their family? Her sisters-in-law were actually involved with people who were selling human meat in buns. This was simply too horrifying.
Even now Madam Kong had nightmares just thinking about what could have happened if they were not fortunate enough to have Yu Dong.
Her restaurant would have been used to sell those human flesh meat buns. And in case it was caught, Madam Kong wouldn’t have been able to wash her hands off even if she wanted to!
Recalling the past events, Madam Kong felt a chill climb up her spine.
She raised her head and looked at Yu Dong before saying gratefully, and she lowered her voice before saying, “This time it was really a tricky matter. If you hadn’t helped us then we would have been in danger. If it was proven that my family was involved with those people, I could have lost my life.”
These were the people from the dark sect! If she was not careful then her entire family would have died in their sleep!
The woman who was behind raising those mind-controlling bugs was said to be among the lowest-ranking sect masters. Now that the woman was dead, there was quite a danger to their life but somehow, they still managed to make it out of the situation alive without losing anything.
And it was all because Yu Dong sent a shadow guard to keep them safe or else, they might have truly lost their lives this time around.
She still remembered how badly she was scolded by her mother. Madam Kong had no idea what was going on behind the scenes but the second she questioned her mother, she raised her voice and scolded her until her ears started to bleed.
It could be seen how serious it was from how her daddy didn’t even ask her to bring Xiao Xiao back.
So, Madam Kong couldn’t tell anything to Yu Dong either.
She paused and added, “But you should be careful as well, those people don’t seem like they are easy to deal with. Who knows what they might be planning to do?”
Yu Dong nodded. After all, the rest of the sect members were yet to be caught. However, even if they were not caught—Yu Dong was not too worried about it because….
If they were not caught she had no problem about catching them either.
The two of them were talking when Yu Jiao Yu returned with his mer sons.
And together with them came Wu Junfen’s daughter. Wu Kanglin.
