Chapter 1338: Love Or Obligation? 6
Draco looked around and saw that there were countless unharmed civilians who were shocked and horrified by the fight going on in the sky. They took out their phones and various devices to record what they were seeing, so Draco made a concession and allowed them to access digital signals from normal space in here so that they could broadcast the fight.
This way, people should be able to understand just what they, the Evil Trio, represented.
SHIIING!
A laser beam of light energy seared through the area where many people were, causing them to scream and touch their bodies rapidly as if trying to put out a fire, but they soon realized that they were unharmed, much to their shock.
Draco lifted himself into the air and caught the attention of the people nearby.
"Don't worry, I've put you in a separate space-time fold. You can see everything that is occurring in real spacetime, but you can't be harmed or interact with it for now. You can contact the outside world, so I'd advise you stream or record what you're witnessing so the world can see it."
Draco spoke to them from a position above, making sure his words could be heard by every person even if they were hundreds of meters away. They could also see his face through clever repositioning of space, making them feel like he was right above them when he was far away from even the closest soul.
BOOOM!
A grand explosion that shook the earth occurred, but the people didn't feel the quakes, but saw their effects on the world around them. Looking above, Eva and Shuangtian were still battling, and their battle had entered a white-hot stage.
Eva's golden eyes flashed with a brilliant light that encapsulated her whole body, growing rapidly to form an astral projection avatar that was like a disembodied, semi-translucent version of Amaterasu — or herself in Amaterasu's attire really — that was full-bodied, standing at a height of nearly 20 feet tall.
Even the tallest skyscraper in the city paled before Riveting Night's avatar, and one could see the beauty herself taking control from the head area of the avatar.
The avatar manifested a Japanese-style sword in one hand, the Kusangi no Tsurugi.
At its chest was a mirror that glowed with resplendent light, shining justice and righteousness on the evil hearts of mortals and cleansing them, the Yata no Kagami.
Around its back, like a divine aura, were six glowing black-gold magatama that repelled all malice and made the weak wish to kneel before the Supreme Goddess, Yasakani no Magatama.
The avatar was clothed in resplendent robes and looked like a holy warrior goddess descended upon the mortal world, and all those streaming from Draco's safe space found themselves kneeling. Even those who were atheist and less than devout had tears in their eyes as their arms stretched out to Eva.
God is here! God is real! God loves us!
Even Draco, who was watching this, was deeply shaken. He had always thought that the number one religion of the mortal world that sub-humans flocked to was nothing but a mere plaything that Lucifer had created, but he was beginning to wonder if there was more to it.
Shuangtian was also moved, but she spat to the side. "Supreme Goddess huh? But then again, what are you without the faith of the people? Nothing but a hoax that people debate about endlessly, with no proof of your existence to stabilize them."
Shuangtian grinned widely. "But you know what people never doubt? The supreme power of imperial authority!"
With a roar, the Supreme Empress also began growing in size crazily, her body shifting from flesh to something else… something more.
Just like the failsafe that Pangu left behind for their Lineage, Shuangtian grew to the size of a colossal giant that towered above the world, her entire body composed of the elements. Her base flesh was not made of a mixture of hardened rock and steel, while her arms lanced with burning flames that formed lava which leaked towards the ground.
Unlike Pangu or Shangtian in the game world, Shuangtian's Primordial Goddess form was more developed, with less craggy features and more humane ones, especially feminine features. It was so detailed in fact, that she even loosely clothed herself in the water element, forming a sort of sports bra and gym shorts combo that covered special areas.
Her long brown hair was formed of the wind element, bearing a mixture of green and blue in its coloring, billowing in the air like it had its own gravitational field.
Just looking at them, even within a different space, Draco could feel the intensity of their power, and his expression became serious.
Lucifer, that fool!
He had always disdained Eva and Shuangtian secretly, feeling that his power was greater than theirs so he often walked off to do adventures alone.
Look at the two of them and the power they were releasing now. If he had simply trusted them and brought them along to deal with the War Maniac Pavilion, half of all that nonsense may not have ever occurred.
Draco shook his head. No, he couldn't lay all the blame on Lucifer, because he too often made that mistake. Just now, when they went to confront the Primordials, he claimed he was seeking revenge on behalf of his beauties, but he was the one who did all the fighting while they looked on.
If they had all fought together at their full power, could they have even taken Gaia down faster than she could 'self-destruct' the planet?
Draco's eyes narrowed.
It seemed like it was time to fix his own mentality and walk down a more efficient path rather than do things belligerently without a proper plan and rely on his protagonist luck to carry him through.
KRAKOOM!
While Draco was rediscovering himself and his flawed thinking, the two beauties who had entered their 'transformation' were going at it full blast, with Riveting Night striking solid blows with the Kusangi no Tsurugi, clashing head-on with Shuangtian's flame-covered fists that caused the air to ripple and shudder with the sheer force of the two titanic women's aftershocks.
By this point, most of the world that was available was watching the fight with stunned expression, feeling like today was a day that would be forever marked in history. It seemed to be like any other at the start, but halfway through, they saw a rebellion against the World Council, they got revealed to the reality of creation and the world, the lineages and the primordials, then they witnessed the World Council be dismantled like a whore in a room full of burly guys.
After that, everyone thought they would have time to rest, but barely more than 20 hours later, they were witnessing a fight of unbelievable proportions happening in reality. Some people in whole other states and countries could literally feel the tremors from where they were while watching the battle on their phones, yet they couldn't even see the two beings fighting at the edge of the horizon.
Many couldn't help but feel dazed. After Draco announces that Godhood over the universe was no holds barred, many had delusions of grandeur even if he made them know that it was ridiculous. After all, who knew?
Everyone was the main character of their own story, so one might say 'my life is shit' but that was really only a shield, a deflection they put up to hide their dissatisfaction over their current situation.
Hehe, if they were one of the 1%, riding in a Lambo with three beauties on each arm, would they still say their life is shit? No, they would feel that this was natural and deserved.
Even if Draco was strongest, he could not guard against an entire universe of competitors, right? He would make a mistake at some point and that could be the chance for one of them to seize the throne!
But what were they seeing now? Not even Draco himself, but his two wives — who the world assumed were weaker than him — were having a quarrel and the power they were releasing was enough to destroy cities and shatter continents?
However, were they supposed to compete when they couldn't even lift a small sedan car? The game had started feeding back stats little by little, but the rate was extremely abysmal and it would take years to see the first superhuman.
Heh, if these ignorant fellows knew that the Evil Trio were self-sealing their power to only 10% of their usual power while on earth, how would they react?
Draco was aware of these hidden thoughts and sentiments because even if he did not actively use his psychic powers to scan the minds of those around, they still couldn't hide their dark desires and emotions which were also filtered towards him from all directions.
Even an Ultima Sunt like King with Ultimate Stealth was done in by Draco's Horned Demon's Seven Deadly Sins ability, much less these normal human folks.
Draco ignored their thoughts and had no intention of acting upon it. Unlike Lucifer who outed them and made grand statements, he was just really amused by the notion and pleased that the human race had this ambition.
He was the Draco who had been stuck at Rank 6 in the previous timeline so he knew the extreme pain of having talent, knowing you have talent and potential, but still being bottlenecked at a choke point without having a way forward.
That situation would test you like no other and many gave up, lying down to become mini tyrants in their domains and enjoying life, while those like him of Hellscape, Eva of Darkrow, Gentle Flower of Kamisuo, Noble Soul of Desecrators, Happy Scholar of Lorebinders and Joker of Myriad Cards led the few who sought to break the limits further.
In those years, he had seen many break off from their group due to fatigue and despair, giving up to enjoy Rank 6 power like that. Heck, even Happy Scholar and Joker were tempted to give up, but it was the ever increasing conflict between Draco and Riveting Night that kept them invested because their fight made new breakthroughs in many fields.
Like, once again, Draco's old Mana Sword.
Looking up to the battle between Shuangtian and Riveting Night, Draco could see the shadow of the same thing. Ever since getting 100%, the two beauties had not engaged in any big fights outside of the Rank up in the Eternal Plane unlike him, so they hadn't grown much nor had they dug into their powers.
However, this no holds barred fight for the establishment of hierarchy within the top levels of the family was forcing them to squeeze out their potential to the limit. Riveting Night was crazy and felt that her opinion was always right, unwilling to share the same level of connection with him as with others.
She did not mind even if Draco had a harem of 100,000 but even the number 2 of the harem should understand that if she, Riveting Night, had a connection value of 100 with Draco, the the number 2 will only ever have 99.99 at most.
That last 0.01 gap was a chasm, and the dividing line between them now and forevermore. However Shuangtian dared to say that they both stood at the 100 value, which touched Riveting Night's bottom line.
Likewise, Shuangtian was going all out because she was tired. Initially, she had once slapped the two on the back during the Vault of the Deep Unique quest and said that she would be the arbiter of the two, balancing their madness with moderation.
At that time, she was mostly joking and had been taking it semi-seriously till now, but her exchange with Draco just now made her realize that this was precisely her role and even her current bloodline branches were built with abilities that seemed geared to suppress the two and make them behave.
If the two people she was supposed to rein in from going too far always lashed back at her when she tried to temper their actions, then what was the point of appointing her as the middle-ground and bastion of common sense?
No, today she had to establish her authority and Riveting Night was the perfect whetstone!
