Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

Chapter 1131: The activated Time-Turner

After Harry followed the Death Eaters away, silence returned to the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic.

At this moment, the only sound that could be heard in the Atrium was the continuous rush of water from the golden fountain, streaming from the wands of the wizard and the witch, the arrow of the Centaur, the tip of the goblin’s hat, and the ears of the house-elf, all falling into the circular pool.

Suddenly, a golden light flashed, and Evan and Dumbledore appeared out of thin air.

The two of them had just arrived from Norway, while Caresius, Hermione and Elaine stayed at the vampire castle.

“Is this the Ministry of Magic?” Riddle floated out from the ring, looking around with interest. “Quite a transformation!”

Evan asked quickly, ignoring Riddle, “Professor, is he here?

“Yes, let’s go faster down there,” said Dumbledore seriously, taking off the ring and handing it to Evan. “You keep this ring for now. Don’t let him see Riddle.”

Voldemort was still unaware that they were destroying his Horcruxes, let alone that one of them had betrayed him.

Under Riddle’s gaze, Evan put the ring away.

“Boy, keep that ring safe and don’t lose it!” Riddle reminded him.

Since the recent events, Riddle’s dissatisfaction and hostility towards Evan had reached an undisguised level.

“No need for your reminder, get back in!” Evan ordered. “We don’t have time to waste with you.”

Riddle glared at him and then vanished from the air.

Evan quickly followed Dumbledore across the hall and took the lift to the Department of Mysteries.

He wasn’t particularly concerned about how to capture Voldemort and the Death Eaters. That was Dumbledore’s task. Evan needed to get hold of the Time-Turner.

A minute later, they entered the first room of the Department of Mysteries, and the twelve doors on the wall began to rotate.

Evan felt like he was surrounded by the blue beam of light produced by the rotating candles, and he didn’t know which door he needed.

Dumbledore raised his wand, the spinning wall immediately stopped, and a door opened.

Inside the door, there was a bustling sound.

Members of the Order of the Phoenix were fighting the Death Eaters, spells flying, and shouts ringing out. Evan heard Mad-Eye Moody’s voice and saw Lupin not far from the door, dueling fiercely with Lucius Malfoy.

But Evan did not see Harry, Sirius or Voldemort, nor did he hear their voices.

The room was in chaos. Hourglasses, clocks, and Time-Turners that had originally been on display in cabinets, shelves, and bookcases were now scattered everywhere, many shattered into pieces, causing time distortions within a certain space. ⱤÃꞐỔ₿Ës̈

As soon as the two of them entered, a Death Eater spotted Dumbledore and shouted to alert the others.

Dumbledore waved his wand gently, and he was frozen there, speechless.

“Albus, they’re in there!” Mad-Eye shouted, pointing towards a tall, imposing grandfather clock at the far end of the room.

It was a crystal bell jar, the brightest thing in the whole room.

It emitted a diamond-like brilliant, flickering light, with a tiny egg inside continuously repeating the process of hatching a bird.

At the top of the jar, Evan saw the Time-Turner.

It was part of the power of the Time Titan, the world’s most powerful Time-Turner, which controlled the mysteries of time.

A thousand years ago, Ravenclaw had obtained it from the Titan of Time and left it in the Chamber of Secrets within the castle.

Four years ago, Evan had used it to return to the newly founded Hogwarts and handed it back to Ravenclaw.

After Ravenclaw’s death, it had been kept in this room in the Department of Mysteries.

Obviously, over a long period of time, the wizards had forgotten about this Time-Turner, thinking it was just a decorative part of the crystal bell jar. No one knew it was the true core, influencing time.

Once he had it, Evan could travel back to the past to find Ravenclaw and obtain her treasure key…

Dumbledore moved quickly, taking down Death Eaters along the way without pausing. His figure disappeared behind the grandfather clock. Kingsley and Mad-Eye Moody ran over to help, but Evan didn’t follow. He stayed in front of the crystal bell jar.

With Dumbledore, there was no need to worry even if Voldemort was inside. Evan wouldn’t be of much help if he went in.

He was thinking about how to remove the Time-Turner. Should he reach inside the crystal bell jar or use magic to break it?

Drifting along in the sparkling current inside the bell jar was a tiny, jewel-bright egg.

As it rose in the jar it cracked open and a hummingbird emerged, which was carried to the very top of the jar, but as it fell on the draft, its feathers became bedraggled and damp again, and by the time it had been borne back to the bottom of the jar it had been enclosed once more in its egg.

Evan didn’t know much about time magic, but looking at the unconscious Death Eater beneath the bell jar…

His head was stuck inside the crystal bell, constantly shifting between babyhood and adulthood, giving a creepy sensation.

Seeing his state, it was clear that directly reaching inside wasn’t a good idea.

As for directly destroying this item to retrieve the Time-Turner, …

Evan looked around and saw a mess. Only Lupin and Malfoy were still fighting fiercely in the room. All the other Death Eaters were knocked to the ground. With Tonks joining the fight, Malfoy was losing ground rapidly and wouldn’t hold out much longer.

The remaining members of the Order of the Phoenix were tying up the defeated Death Eaters with ropes.

No one was paying attention to him. This was a good opportunity. If he wanted to take action, it had to be now…

Evan didn’t believe that participating in tonight’s operation would result in the Ministry rewarding him with this crucial magic item. Since that wasn’t going to happen, he’d have to take it himself. Whatever happened, it could be blamed on the Death Eaters’ destruction.

He raised his wand and moved the Death Eater on the ground aside.

The next second, dark blue light hit the clock, followed by the sound of shattering glass.

The hummingbird that flew to the top did not turn into an egg again, but flew directly out of the crystal bell jar.

It seemed somewhat confused, not understanding what was happening.

Suddenly, a blue glow emanated from the falling Time-Turner, enveloping both the hummingbird and Evan.

The hands of the Time-Turner were spinning rapidly clockwise.

Having experienced this once before, Evan knew exactly what it meant—the Time-Turner had been activated!

Before his eyes, pale blue lines spun rapidly, finally converging into darkness.

At the last moment, he seemed to hear Harry shouting from the room where the prophecy orb was stored. He was shouting Sirius’s name…
