Chapter 792: Chapter 722 You’re in Trouble

The identities of those five people were not in question, as all eyes turned toward the house before them.

Everyone entered from three different directions, and Bai Zhi also intended to follow them inside. However, Moh Li pulled her back.

“I…” I want to go in, Bai Zhi hadn’t finished her sentence when Moh Li already took her hand.

“I’ll go in with you.”

Bai Dan was tasked with watching the children outside as they walked into the room. Inside were many props, all of the horror variety, including wigs, as well as some tomato juice, and numerous mechanisms.

But there was not a single person.

There really wasn’t anyone, not even the flickering phosphorescence was anything but switch-controlled.

Soon, a fat man arrived, looked at the mess, slapped his thigh forcefully, and plopped himself down on the ground.

“Ouch, you damned lot, my house, I still need to do business. How am I supposed to live like this?”

Bai Zhi ran into the room as well, confirming that there really was no one there.

After a thorough inspection, it was clear that the person had left early.

Because no one had been seen running away just now. Therefore, it was either one of those three people, or someone had prepared everything in advance.

But now, there were no leads at all.

“What’s going on here?”

Bai Dan looked at the fat uncle; wasn’t that Fat Aunt’s husband?

“Uncle, don’t you sell pork? What are you doing here?”

The fat uncle was clearly frustrated, “Isn’t the village promoting unique tourism nowadays? So I thought, what’s good? Surely a Horror House, right? Young people love these kinds of things. So, I decided to set one up.

Today, all the props arrived and I planned to open in a couple of days. But just when I came over today, I found you lot had turned it into a shamble. How could I be so unlucky? You better compensate me; I’m telling you.”

The fat uncle sat down and refused to move, with behavior completely mirroring that of Fat Aunt. As they say, ’Birds of a feather flock together.’

“Uncle, you’ve got trouble on your hands.”

Bai Zhi could only say this with some helplessness.

The police arrived quickly and soon cordoned off the area, taking all the items inside for examination, and the five university students were also taken away.

“Moh Li, did you find anything?”

Back at home, Bai Zhi and Moh Li were told by Bai Dan to stay out of it.

“How about you?” Instead of answering, Moh Li just looked at her.

“I’m thinking of getting my brother to come back once. We really have come across a situation like this before. So, he should be able to see through something.”

In a previous adventure game they had played, it was quite similar to this. A survival game in a secret room…

Finding various clues was the only way to push open the door and leave the secret room. Although this wasn’t a secret room, they could still see lots of things.

“Let’s go back one more time.”

Bai Zhi grabbed Moh Li, ready to head back.

There were still people guarding the place. Bai Zhi took out her credentials and followed Moh Li inside.

It was just a few houses, each with different props in several smaller rooms, featuring various ghosts and fake severed hands among other things.

Moh Li and Bai Zhi walked around the place once more, when suddenly Bai Zhi spotted a line.

“What’s this? Fishing line?”

Bai Zhi and Moh Li crouched down, looking at the line with some confusion. They followed it for quite a distance until they saw a pit at the end where the house was visible.

The distance was roughly five hundred meters.

“I’ll pull here; can you go check it out?”

Bai Zhi pulled on something, and suddenly, phosphorescent flames and Ghost’s shadow appeared in the house.

Moh Li immediately went to take a look and discovered it was a projector.

“Xingxing, come and see.”

Bai Zhi hurried over and saw the object as well.

“Let’s take it back and ask Fat Uncle if he knows about this. We should find out whether this thing shows the truth, or if it’s something that’s been deceiving our eyes. It’s hard to say.”

Bai Zhi went with Moh Li to find Bai Dan. At that moment, Fat Uncle was cooperating with the investigation.

“I haven’t committed any crime. Isn’t the Horror House very normal? All the supplies were purchased from the county’s Snot Equipment Shop.”

Snot Equipment Shop, what a name indeed.

“When did those tools arrive, and this flyer, do you recognize it?”

The young man handed the flyer to Fat Uncle.

“No, no, I haven’t even prepared for the grand opening. All the props arrived today, and the owner said he’d help me install them. Then tonight, he was supposed to show me how to use them. I just got here after dinner, and this happened. I’ve spent thousands on this; it can’t all be for nothing.”

At that moment, Fat Uncle’s face turned ashen. If everything really went down the drain, would he be able to survive?

He had promised his wife at home that he would definitely make money, even specially made the props.

“Hurry and take us there. Forget about your props for now. If there’s no problem, someone will take responsibility for them. But if there’s an issue, you’re still going to have to come clean.”

“No problem, no problem. There definitely won’t be any problem.”

Fat Uncle quickly led them to the equipment shop, but it was already empty.

His heart skipped a beat, his face turned deathly pale, and he just sat down on the ground.

“I really don’t know what’s going on.”

Seeing the situation, Bai Zhi and Moh Li handed the wire to Bai Dan and then called Xu Yan.

“I’ll be right back.”

Xu Yan said he would return immediately from the city, while Moh Li and Bai Zhi headed back.

By the time they got home, it was late at night, and the two of them ate the food they had bought.

“What do you think is the purpose of staging this act? To create chaos?”

Bai Zhi couldn’t make sense of it, and the five people were also a mystery.

They were all students who had heard that the rural resort was very good and encountered someone handing out flyers while eating. The three boys decided to go check it out.

Not long after they went, things went wrong.

“So, those three girls really did come at the right time, just in time to find Grandpa and me when the incident happened.”

Was it all too timely?

Moh Li agreed with Bai Zhi’s words because it really was incredibly timely.

“And…” Bai Zhi closed her eyes, thinking back to that moment carefully.

At that time, she was about to check on them when they suddenly pounced. The first one who pounced—his pupils didn’t change!

Bai Zhi immediately called Bai Dan on the landline, “Grandpa, that one in the green clothes, when he lunged at me, his pupils didn’t change. They changed only later, and, those student IDs don’t necessarily prove they are who they say they are. Check their school and their homes.”

“Alright, I understand. You two rest early, I’ve got this.”

Bai Dan had wanted to spend a couple of good days with his granddaughter, but that plan was ruined now.

Yet, when trouble arose, it meant Han Sheng was panicking. Or to say, whoever was behind this, they would be caught.

“Xingxing, the suitcase I brought back. Take it to your room and open it. Wu Wa will come to find you tomorrow.”

Bai Dan’s gaze deepened, as now was the perfect time for Wu Wa to return.

“Okay.”
