“Grand Warden, is there a situation?” Kang Donghae asked respectfully.
“Don’t ask too many questions for now. The suspect hasn’t left Rania yet, so we need to block all possible escape routes. If we seal off every exit, we might be able to catch him,” Evans instructed.
“Of course, if you can apprehend him yourself, that’s even better. If not, do whatever you can to delay him. We’re en route to Rania as we speak. I’ll send you the suspect’s photo shortly.”
“I understand! I’ll handle this personally. Please rest assured, Grand Warden.”
“Move quickly. Don’t waste any time,” Evans ordered.
“The moment you encounter anyone suspicious, eliminate them, whether they’re the target or not.”
“Understood!”
Evans hung up, and Kang Donghae stood in silent shock. He hadn’t expected the situation to escalate to the point where a Grand Warden was handling it personally.
This was clearly a serious matter.Throwing away his cigarette, Kang Donghae quickly dressed and summoned his men to his room. Within minutes, he had assigned all the tasks Evans had given him.
“President, should we secure the ports as well?”
Kang Donghae nodded gravely.
“Whether it’s cargo or passenger ships, any route out of Rania must be guarded. Post people there, and don’t give them any chance to escape!”
“Understood!”
“Deploy our forces near the exits, but don’t engage unless you’re sure. The suspect is likely highly skilled. If you move too soon, he might escape,” Kang Donghae instructed.
“Once you have a clear opportunity, don’t hesitate. Shoot to kill. I’ll send the photo soon. Move out now.”
“Yes, sir!”
…
After setting fire to the Freemasons’ building in Soul, Lin Yi, along with Ning Che and Qiu Yuluo, drove toward the nearby Iheon Port, with Gill unconscious in tow.
The journey was about 60 kilometers, which wasn’t much for the trio.
However, in a small country like Rania, it was considered quite a distance.
“Who were you talking to earlier? Can she really help us with this?” Ning Che asked.
“Lee Yongjin from Samsung. This kind of small matter should be easy for her.”
“Lee Yongjin?” Qiu Yuluo glanced at Lin Yi through the rearview mirror.
“That woman’s no pushover. How’d you convince her to help? And didn’t you stab her brother? Why would she assist you?”
“Yeah, she’s quite something,” Lin Yi admitted.
“But for families like hers, familial ties don’t mean much.”
He then grinned. “Here’s something you might not know: I didn’t just stab Lee Yongchul—I killed him. The news hasn’t spread yet, but it should by tomorrow.”
“You killed Lee Yongchul?” The two women were startled.
“I spiked his anti-inflammatory medication with some pesticide,” Lin Yi said nonchalantly.
“Now Lee Yongjin’s the rightful heir.”
“But the Samsung family is heavily patriarchal. Even if Lee Yongchul is dead, it’s still uncertain whether she’ll be named the primary heir,” Qiu Yuluo pointed out.
“That’s true,” Lin Yi agreed. “But just to be sure, I also sent her father to the ICU. Now, the entire Lee family is in her hands.”
The two women were stunned speechless.
He’d even sent her father to the ICU.
The thought made them shiver involuntarily.
Was there anything Lin Yi wouldn’t do?
Ring! Ring! Ring!
At that moment, Lin Yi’s phone rang. The number was unfamiliar.
“Is this Mr. Lin Yi?”
The voice on the other end asked politely.
“Speaking.”
“This is Ha Jeonwoo. President Lee asked me to contact you. I’m here to help you board the ship.”
“Great. Where should we meet?”
“There’s a restaurant by the port called Victory. I’ll be there in about forty minutes.”
“I’ll be there. Don’t be late.”
After hanging up, Lin Yi turned to the women with a smile.
“All set.”
Since they weren’t familiar with the roads, it took them almost an hour to reach the port in Iheon.
On the way, Lin Yi stopped at a shop to buy the largest suitcase he could find, then picked up some sleeping pills from a pharmacy. Forcing Gill to swallow the pills, they packed him into the suitcase.
By the time they arrived at the Victory Restaurant, they were a bit late.
The restaurant was spacious and felt somewhat like a highway service area.
Despite the early hour, it was already quite crowded, with many of the patrons being Huaxian.
It seemed they were tourists preparing to board ships for home.
Lin Yi scanned the area but didn’t spot his contact.
He redialed the number, and after a few rings, he noticed a man in the corner waving at him.
Ha Jeonwoo looked to be in his late thirties, slightly overweight, dressed in a suit, and wearing glasses. He seemed rather harmless, almost amiable.
He quickly approached and extended his hand.
“Sorry for the delay. The roads were a bit tricky.”
“No worries,” Ha Jeonwoo replied courteously.
“We still have about an hour before boarding starts. I’ll take you on now, so you don’t have to wait with the others.”
“That would be great. Thank you.”
“It’s my pleasure.”
With a polite gesture, Ha Jeonwoo led the three of them out of the restaurant and toward the boarding gate.
Moored at the dock was a passenger ship about fifty meters long. It had two levels, with private cabins reserved for wealthier passengers. But since the journey was only four hours, most people didn’t bother with cabins.
After walking about fifty meters, they reached the ticket checkpoint.
“It’s not boarding time yet. Go wait and come back later.”
The grumpy ticket inspector said, clearly annoyed at the early hour.
Ha Jeonwoo waved at the inspector, who seemed confused but followed him.
Initially, the inspector looked irritated, but after a brief conversation, his demeanor shifted, becoming polite and accommodating.
After just a couple of minutes, Ha Jeonwoo returned to Lin Yi and his group.
“Mr. Lin, everything is arranged. Let’s board.”
“Thank you. Much appreciated.”
At this time, Lin Yi was not too pleasant to He Zhenyu.
After all, once they boarded the ship, there would be no need for further interaction.
There was no need to be too polite.
As they boarded, about a dozen meters away, a black Hyundai sedan sat parked.
Inside, two men dressed in black kept a close watch on Lin Yi, their eyes never leaving him.
“That man looks exactly like the one in the photos. I think it’s him!”
