MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1526 - 1526: Transcending Boundaries (1)

Whoosh!

Hearing his notifications go off the moment he completed the chestplate, Valyr was stunned for a brief moment before feeling a great sense of relief washed over him.

‘At the very least the change at the end didn’t cause the forge to fail,’ thought the young man to himself, feeling a tad pessimistic at the outcome of the chestplate.

After all, even though he and Ataraxia had pretty much bumped up the quality of the product to the limits of their skills, that still did not change the fact that they deviated from the steps that went towards making the chestplate.

Naturally, that meant that they now introduced the possibility of the chestplate being worse than what they initially expected out of it.

‘I hope it’s not bad, I hope it’s not bad…’ Continuing to mutter these words in his mind over and over again, Valyr eventually opened his notifications to see the outcome of the chestplate in detail.

Though, once he did, he was immediately left at a loss for words from what he read.

Ding!

[You have successfully forged an artifact.]

‘…What?’

Taking a brief moment to process what he just read, Valyr briefly shook his head before continuing to read through the notifications he obtained.

[You have successfully forged the item: Transcendental Half Wyvern Chestplate of Arcane Origins (Artifact). Quality has been rated to be Transcendent.]

[The item you have forged with the help of the Emissary of the Arcane approaches the limits of what is possible for a mortal to achieve, causing the heavens to be greatly shocked and impressed with the resulting item.]

[Though the heavens understand that the item is merely the result of a modification of the process to forge an emulation of another artifact, the heavens still feel that it’s apt to grant it the status of an artifact.]

[The heavens have come to this conclusion partly due to the quality of the resulting item being significantly higher than the original item it is based off of.]

[However, it is mostly due to the heavens confirming that the item has obtained properties related to the Arcane concept thanks to the Emissary of the Arcane’s blood. Note that this has weakened some of the item’s original properties while also enhancing and replacing others.]

[The heavens are eager to see you and the Emissary of the Arcane work to complete the remaining parts of the new artifact. They are curious to see what the new artifact is capable of in its entirety.]

“…Huh.”

Although the young man had more notifications to read after that, Valyr decided to stop there for now as he tried to wrap his head around what he just read.

Yet, no matter how much he thought about it, he still found it somewhat absurd.

‘Just because I decided to bump up the quality as much as possible, the chestplate that would normally be considered an Emulation… is now considered a bona fide artifact?’

Faintly shaking his head at the thought, the young man decided not to think about it any further, lest he planned on losing his mind over it.

Instead, he showed the same notifications to Ataraxia, who unsurprisingly looked back at Valyr with shock by the time he was done reading it.

“Seriously?” uttered Ataraxia with a tone of disbelief. “All we needed to do to forge a new artifact is to bump up its quality as much as possible?”

“That’s part of it,” replied Valyr, feeling a hint of pride well up within him after reading through the notifications once more. “The main reason is because of the blood I had you infuse on the chestplate.”

“…Huh.” Slightly doubting his original identity’s words, Ataraxia went ahead and looked through Valyr’s notifications once more, only to confirm that his blood was indeed the reason why it had become an artifact. “We should rely more on your gut feelings, then.”

“Definitely not something I’d apply back on Earth, though,” replied Valyr with a slight chuckle. “Remember the incident back on that field trip we took back in college?”

“…Ah.” Hearing those words, Ataraxia became crestfallen as he shuddered at the thought. “Yeah. Keep the gut feelings limited to Greater Beyond.”

“In any case, the chestplate surprisingly started off at Level 1 after going through all that.” Nodding in agreement with his other self, the young man soon began to do a bit more work on the chestplate.

“I’m gonna upgrade it first before I show it to you.”

“Are you gonna try to max it out?” asked Ataraxia in return.

“Probably only on attribute awakening,” replied Valyr, only to change his mind a few seconds later. “On second thought, attribute awakening and refinement.”

Nodding at those words, Ataraxia went ahead and sat by his usual spot as the sound of hammering echoed throughout the workshop once more.

Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!

Pushing the chestplate’s level as far as it could go, Valyr made sure to keep Ataraxia’s current level as he enhanced the chestplate within a matter of minutes.

Then, requesting a set of Refinement Jewels from the guild, he then proceeded to push the chestplate’s refinement level to its limit, causing the faint aura it was passively giving off to increase in strength by a few notches.

Advancing its foundation to the 1st Tier not long after, Valyr eventually capped off the upgrade process by spamming his attribute awakening skill on the chestplate over and over again, only stopping once he made sure that he had achieved a perfect awakening on it.

“Done.”

Taking out a couple of stamina and mana potions from his spatial bracelet, Valyr let out a faint sigh of relief as he chugged all of the potions down in a few gulps.

Feeling refreshed thanks to the potions not long after, the young man took a look at the chestplate once more, only for a grin to appear on his face by the time he was done with it.

“Go take a look,” said Valyr, tossing the chestplate to Ataraxia.

Whoosh!

Catching the chestplate with both hands, Ataraxia immediately noticed how sturdy the chestplate felt compared to the one he was currently wearing.

Continuing to look at it for a bit more, he soon noticed that it gave off a glow that gradually shifted between crimson and dark blue, causing its dark gray surface to feel more colorful than it normally did.

Realizing that he was just building up anticipation for himself at this point, the young man eventually bit the bullet and checked the chestplate with his identification skill.

Though, the contents that greeted him soon after went beyond even his wildest expectations.
