My Werewolf System

Chapter 1292 - 1292: The Powerful Bow

The group ran through the Garden. The one they were in was quite highly dense with various amounts of plants. Even the pathways that would be used for the public to walk in were small, but they were winding in various areas.

Thankfully, it made it so at least it would be harder for Luzen to track them down.

“Hey, we just left Agent 14 behind!” Lou shouted.

“Not behind!” Blackjack answered. “That arrow, or whatever it was, it had clipped him in a single shot. If we had stayed behind, then it would be us that would be next.”

As the group continued to run, Blackjack then pulled Lou slightly to the side. When he did, he saw a large hole appearing in the tree and then part of the dirt breaking in the ground up ahead.

Blackjack glanced behind him, and he could see Luzen, who was running up high and firing off the arrows next to them.

“Don’t run in a straight path; he’s faster than us, but he’s relying on the arrows!” Blackjack shouted.

The group listened well, and the constant arrows that were being shot at were hitting leaves, trees, and more, but the reason why they hadn’t been hit so much was because of Blackjack.

As he ran towards his allies, he would pull them to the side or at the right time as the arrows were heading his way.

“How are you able to tell where the arrows are even though they’re invisible?” Joy asked. “If you tell us, then maybe we can avoid them as well.”

“Even if I told you, it would be useless; you wouldn’t be able to do anything,” Blackjack said.

“Stop thinking we’re useless.” Blackjack then pushed Joy slightly up ahead; it had almost caused her to trip, but an arrow landed in the ground, breaking it, with Blackjack pulling his hand just in time.

“I can hear them…as I said, it’s useless information for the situation we are in right now.”

Even in this situation, Blackjack had partly told a lie. Because it wasn’t the arrows themselves that he could hear; it was the arrows hitting everything around them before it would reach them.

The arrows were hitting the leaves, hitting parts of the tree, and that was making a sound, making it so Blackjack knew where they were coming from, but he had to focus well.

Not every vampire would be able to do something like this, and noticing this, even Luzen had stopped chasing them for a while.

‘It appears that they have brought quite a handy one this time,’ Luzen said to himself. ‘I guess a vampire knight, it wouldn’t be a leader, they would try to face me.’

Luzen then looked at the bow again, twisting and turning it.

“There were other features of this thing they said, right? Let’s try those other features.”

Luzen’s body started to transform, brown fur growing from his limbs. His arms and legs elongated slightly longer than that of a typical Werewolf. As for his facial features, he also didn’t have a particularly large snout; instead, it was more human along with his eyes, but the shape of his eyes had changed.

While Blackjack was running, he noticed a couple of things: the others around him, they were tiring. They were running at full force, and the other thing was that the attacks had stopped.

‘Luzen is one of those Werewolf hunter types. I have no doubt no matter where we go, he’s going to be able to track us. Then there is Lupus on the outside, so we can’t run out of this place either.

Running is buying us time, but time for what? For someone to come and help us? What am I thinking of in a time like this?’

The memories that had started to flood into Blackjack’s head were when Gary had appeared. Originally, Blackjack had planned to use Gary to help fight against the warden while he could escape, but in that moment, he saw a chance, a chance for them to actually take her down and win. It was a miracle.

‘I’m hoping for a miracle?’ Blackjack thought. ‘If that’s the case, I need to figure out what’s best for us, buying time. This whole thing is annoying, that weapon in his hand, is it true?

That the Darkguild is working with the Werewolves, to hand over something like this? Their relationship can’t be so neutral.’

In the middle of his thoughts, Blackjack could hear something else. It wasn’t the same as before, the shallow movement of leaves; it was almost as if something was running after them on the floor.

When Blackjack turned around, he wasn’t sure what he was seeing. It was glowing, bright blue in color, and looked like a small wolf. It was see-through, and then it leapt up right at Lou and bit right in his leg.

“DAMN IT!” Lou shouted and slammed his weapon right through the translucent image, breaking it apart. It looked like it was never there to begin with.

When Blackjack looked up ahead though, he could see that there were even more of these glowing wolves running through the plants and heading their way.

These weren’t like the arrows; it was almost like they were real wolves, aimed to hit their target regardless.

“Everyone, change of plans!” Blackjack shouted as he turned to all of the wolves. He pulled something out from his side and flung them out.

Several red objects flew from his hand, rectangle in shape. As they hit each of the wolves chasing them, they had burst, breaking apart before reaching the group, and the object thrown was stuck in the trees and the ground, revealed to be playing cards.

“We have no choice, we have to fight!” Blackjack declared.
