Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 5664: Obtaining the Heavenly Dao Fruit

The sky exploded as the Blood Lizard Battle-Axe came crashing down onto Long Chen’s palm.

The demon experts were dumbfounded as the massive battle-axe came to an abrupt halt in midair. All its destructive power had completely vanished.

Long Chen stood motionless, one hand behind his back, the other gripping the Blood Lizard Battle-Axe. He was like an unshakable mountain in the sky.

Below him, the void shattered, cracks radiating outward in all directions. Time itself seemed to freeze, while heaven and earth fell into an eerie silence.

Then, fresh blood dripped from the battle-axe.

“Long Chen’s injured!”

The demon experts erupted in excitement, but their joy was fleeting. On closer inspection, the wound on Long Chen's palm was nothing more than a shallow cut.

On the other hand, Xue Yingfeng was as pale as paper now, his body shaking. No one knew if that was from fear or overdrafting his strength.

He had a terrified expression now, unable to believe that Long Chen had condensed nine core veins. Furthermore, they were dragon blood heaven veins.

A deep, primal fear clawed at Xue Yingfeng’s soul. Now he realized why Long Chen had unsettled him from the very beginning.

The demon race had always been subordinates to the dragon race. In other words, they were the dragon race’s subjects. Now, before the presence of true dragon blood, Xue Yingfeng’s very being was suppressed. His body no longer obeyed him.

Without warning, Xue Yingfeng retreated, abandoning the Blood Lizard Battle-Axe in desperation.

But just as he vanished into the void, the space around him quivered, and a crystalline barrier materialized. He crashed into it and rebounded violently.

“What?!” exclaimed Xue Yingfeng.

Xue Yingfeng's eyes widened in horror. He had used a secret escape technique unique to the Blood Crystal Demon Lizard race—yet it had failed completely.

Long Chen chuckled, his voice calm yet chilling. “I destroyed your head first and set up this barrier using your core energy just to make sure you couldn’t escape. I’ve been waiting to take your life for a long time.”

With that, Long Chen flipped the Blood Lizard Battle-Axe in his grip, stepped forward, and unleashed a devastating slash.

“No!” shrieked Xue Yingfeng.

Xue Yingfeng's scream was cut short as the battle-axe cleaved him in two. His crystalline body failed to withstand the strike. In the next instant, he exploded into countless specks of dust, scattering into the air.

Long Chen exhaled sharply, his gaze immediately shifting to the primal chaos space—to be exact the Heavenly Dao Tree. Finally, among the swirling energy, a single Heavenly Dao Fruit with crystalline markings appeared.

Long Chen sighed in relief.

“Warriors, it’s your turn now!” shouted Long Chen excitedly.

The gates of the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest swung open. The Dragonblood warriors, the Hidden Dragon warriors, and the Wind God Sea Pavilion’s disciples came flooding out like a tidal wave.

“Kill!”

The Dragonblood warriors descended upon their foes like tigers into a flock of sheep, targeting the strongest demon experts with ruthless efficiency.

Xia Chen, who had been holding back all this time, instantly locked onto the second-strongest expert after Xue Yingfeng. He unleashed a flurry of talismans like they were worthless scraps of paper.

The eight-vein Heaven Saint barely had time to react before the talismans exploded in rapid succession. His defenses crumbled under the barrage, and his body was riddled with wounds before he even caught sight of his attacker. ṞᴀNỘΒÊŞ

“Take it a bit easier. These are Wilde’s snacks. He doesn’t like drinking porridge,” Long Chen called out when he saw Xia Chen nearly blasting his opponent to bits.

Weaker demonic beasts were inconsequential and could be slaughtered at will. But the stronger ones? Those were reserved for Wilde—and he preferred his meals intact.

Gu Yang lunged forward, his spear thrust toward an eight-vein Heaven Saint. Just as his strike was about to land, a streak of sword Qi flashed past him. The eight-vein Heaven Saint’s protective divine light was shredded apart like fragile paper, and in the next instant, he was cut in two.

“Wan-er!” Long Chen’s voice carried a mix of disbelief and exasperation.

Tang Wan-er blinked innocently. “I... I was just trying it out…”

Her attempt at an excuse was absurd. As a ten-vein Heaven Saint, there was no "trying." That enemy would have died a thousand times over if she so much as willed it. If she wanted to try something, shouldn’t she be using the power of eight veins?

"Sorry!" she added quickly, though her expression betrayed amusement rather than remorse. She was clearly pleased with her own strength.

Long Chen eyed her warily. At this point, as a ten-vein Heaven Saint, her cultivation base was the highest of everyone here. Who could possibly order her around? If he pressed her, perhaps she would cut him in half too?

Tang Wan-er sidled up to him with a playful grin. "So, how was my attack?"

“It was absolute overkill,” said Long Chen with a bitter smile.

A ten-vein Heaven Saint was simply too powerful. She hadn’t even drawn upon the full might of her heaven veins, and yet her attack had been devastating. This attack was only the tip of the iceberg of Tang Wan-er’s power.

If Tang Wan-er unleashed the full power of her ten veins, Long Chen could not imagine just how strong she would be.

The huge gap between nine veins and ten veins could be considered a major dividing line. Although Long Chen could sense Tang Wan-er’s immense power, he remained uncertain whether it surpassed his own.

After all, Long Chen had always gauged strength by the sense of danger an opponent evoked. Yet, no matter how powerful Tang Wan-er became, she couldn’t trigger the slightest sense of danger in him. That made it impossible for him to accurately judge her true might.

Meanwhile, the Dragonblood warriors carved through their enemies with ruthless efficiency. Few could withstand even a single strike. Their raw ferocity sent shivers through the Hidden Dragon warriors.

Although the Hidden Dragon warriors had transformed into true experts under Long Chen’s guidance—enduring brutal trials of life and death—they still appeared inexperienced in comparison. Unlike the Dragonblood warriors, who dispatched enemies in a single decisive blow, the female warriors needed to exchange multiple moves with their enemies to locate their weak points.

The Dragonblood warriors now acted entirely based on instinct, which was forged through countless brushes with death. In the end, the difference between the female warriors and them was their combat experience.

Inspired by their dominance, the Hidden Dragon warriors fought even harder, unleashing their full strength against the demon race.

The demons had never encountered such relentless human warriors before. In the blink of an eye, corpses littered the battlefield.

With Xue Yingfeng dead, the remaining Blood Crystal Demon Lizard experts became prime targets for the Dragonblood warriors.

The Blood Crystal Demon Lizard race prided itself on being the descendants of the Demon Emperor. But against the overwhelming might of the Dragonblood warriors, their so-called lineage meant nothing.

Despite vastly outnumbering their foes, they were utterly powerless to resist. What terrified them most was that Long Chen himself hadn’t even joined the battle. Faced with this nightmarish reality, the demon experts abandoned all hope and fled.

The battle had ended before it truly began. Many of the Wind God Sea Pavilion disciples hadn’t even killed a single enemy—they had simply been too slow.

“Isn’t this too monstrous?”

The Wind God Sea Pavilion disciples couldn’t help but feel disheartened. They had once been revered as unparalleled geniuses—warriors sealed in ancient times. Yet now, they were so outclassed that they didn’t even have a role to play. The blow to their pride was devastating.

“Li Qi, Mingyuan, come over. I have something for you,” said Long Chen.

With that, he retrieved a Heavenly Dao Fruit, its crystalline surface gleaming with divine brilliance.
