Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 5669: Green-Robed Youth

The Ten Thousand Dragon Nest was so enormous, looking as if it contained another world in it. Without warning, it descended upon the Golden Armor Horseman Legion with immense force.

“Golden Armor Heaven Raising Formation!” shouted Lu Qingshuang.

At her command, the horsemen swiftly formed hand seals, fusing with their mounts. Their golden armor ignited with dazzling radiance and merged into a massive formation.

BOOM!

This formation had barely taken shape when it was shattered by the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest’s divine light. Countless cavalrymen spat out blood and were sent flying. But no one died. Had the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest followed up with another attack, countless soldiers would have been crushed to bits.

The arrogant prick had expected the provocation to draw the opposing side out. After that, there would be an exchange of names and a display of power to determine the weaker party. Yet, the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest didn’t even spare them a glance before launching a devastating assault.

“Courting death!” exclaimed Yue Changfeng.

Yue Changfeng’s nine core veins erupted into view, and his Dark Golden Battle Armor hummed with power. The fusion of his Heavenly Doyen energy and karmic luck radiated an overwhelming pressure.

Just as he prepared to face the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest head-on, it veered away, continuing on its original path.

Then, a lazy voice drifted from within.

“I don’t mind arrogance, but I despise those who are more arrogant than me. And I especially hate fools with no skill to back it up.”

Lu Qingshuang stiffened as if struck by lightning. Her squad, too, was paralyzed with disbelief.

“It’s him?” muttered Lu Qingshuang.

By now, the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest was already far in the distance.

“Who is it?!” demanded Yue Changfeng.

“The one who helped us obtain the Dark Golden Battle Armor,” Lu Qingshuang replied, sighing.

Yue Changfeng had planned to chase after them, as Long Chen’s words had almost driven him crazy. However, Lu Qingshuang’s explanation left him stunned. He gripped the Slaughter Lance, hesitating about whether or not he should pursue that arrogant fellow.

“Oh, so it’s the one our Fairy Qingshuang called her ‘good big brother’!” Tu Meng spoke up.

This woman was a master manipulator. She had eyes planted within Lu Qingshuang’s ranks and clearly knew who Long Chen was.

“Our icy, untouchable fairy Qingshuang wasn’t even angry after being teased? How strange. Could it be…?!” Tu Meng gasped theatrically, covering her mouth in mock astonishment.

“Courting death! I’ll kill him right now!” shouted Yue Changfeng.

Yue Changfeng’s pride was hurt, unable to accept another man in his woman’s heart, especially after Long Chen had humiliated him.

Seeing this, Lu Qingshuang was livid. She had the overwhelming urge to rip Tu Meng’s mouth off. This woman was truly venomous.

Furious, Lu Qingshuang shouted, “Yue Changfeng, have you lost your mind? They counterattacked but didn’t kill a single one of us. Where’s the issue?! We’ve been provoked three times on our journey, and each time, you slaughtered our enemies without hesitation. And now, when someone shows mercy, you take offense?! Without his help, would you even be wearing that Dark Golden Battle Armor?! If you can’t be grateful, at least don’t repay kindness with enmity!”

Her furious outburst startled Yue Changfeng, immediately quelling his rage. In all their years together, he had never seen her this angry.

Tu Meng immediately grasped that opportunity, sinisterly saying, “Oh my, look how fiercely you defend him…”

Before she could finish, Lu Qingshuang pointed a dagger at this venomous woman’s throat.

Gasps filled the air.

The dagger wasn’t just any weapon—it was the Cursed Blade.

“You damn bitch,” Lu Qingshuang said coldly, eyes ablaze with killing intent. “You like to distort the truth and sow discord. If you hate me so much, then let’s end it here. Take the Cursed Blade. Let’s have a battle to the death.”

The Cursed Blade—also known as the Sword of Adjudication—was a terrifying weapon. Both combatants had to insert their core runes into it, and it would initiate an inescapable countdown. If neither opponent had fallen by the time the countdown ended, the blade would detonate and kill them both.

This was a decisive battle to the death with no option of retreat. Some sects resorted to this method when irreconcilable conflicts arose between disciples, ensuring that only one would walk away alive.

As the leader of a corps, Lu Qingshuang had the authority to invoke the sword of adjudication in extreme situations like this.

When she unsheathed it, everyone froze. Even Yue Changfeng’s expression shifted, while Tu Meng’s face twitched. She could see the burning killing intent in Lu Qingshuang’s eyes.

Both women had exchanged blows several times, and they were evenly matched. Neither one could say that they could definitely beat the other. If they truly fought to the death, the outcome was uncertain—both could very well perish together. Yet, Lu Qingshuang’s intent was clear: if she was going down, she would drag Tu Meng with her.

“Qingshuang, what are you doing?! Put away the cursed blade!” shouted Yue Changfeng.

But Lu Qingshuang ignored him. She kept the blade leveled at Tu Meng, her killing intent burning like an unrelenting flame.

Lu Qingshuang had always respected Yue Changfeng and had never defied him. But this time was different. If things continued as they were, the Golden Armor Horseman Legion would be torn apart by internal strife. She had to wake Yue Changfeng up and make him see the danger right in front of him. And the best way to do that was to shut Tu Meng’s mouth before she could cause more trouble.

Lu Qingshuang refused to back down. Even Yue Changfeng couldn’t stop her. The air was thick with tension, and an eerie silence settled over the group.

Lu Qingshuang and Tu Meng’s subordinates instinctively gripped their weapons. If a fight broke out, they would have no choice but to defend their respective sides.

Then, amidst the suffocating stillness, the sound of light footsteps echoed.

Startled, everyone turned toward the approaching figure.

A young man in green robes walked toward them at an unhurried pace. He looked no older than fifteen or sixteen, his features delicate and scholarly. While his aura was unclear, a large dice could be seen floating behind him.

It was perfectly square and three feet long, rotating slowly as runes of the ten thousand Daos swirled around its surface, exuding mysterious energy. It was extremely eye-catching.

When he appeared, everyone was startled, including Yue Changfeng. Somehow, this green-robed youth had walked right up to them without triggering their senses. It was as if he had simply appeared out of thin air.

Oblivious to their presence, the youth kept his head down, rolling a few bone tiles in his hand. His brows furrowed as he studied them, seemingly lost in deep calculation. He simply ignored the people around him.

Step by step, he passed within meters of them, utterly unfazed. Lu Qingshuang was astonished. Seeing this man made her forget about her challenge.

“Stop right there!” shouted Yue Changfeng.

All of a sudden, he extended the Slaughter Lance and blocked that youth’s path.
