Chapter 470: More subsidiaries

“Your territory?” Rhena asked curiously. “If we do, do we get access to those products that you sold in your stall? Can we buy your soap there?”

He nodded. “Of course. The items that I sold in Metropolis are just a small part of what Reborn offers.”

They all looked at each other. And even without talking, they all knew what they were going to say.

“Yeah! We’ll accept it! I admire the metalwork in your products. They even look like they’re Dwarven-made. I’d like to learn from the blacksmiths responsible for that,” Pedro cheered.

“Sure. I think you’re in for a surprise,” Michael smiled.

“I also accept your offer. Where’s your territory?” Carter asked.

“You have two options,” he told them. “First, you can stay in the Queens region and establish your companies in Angora City. I’ll have my people arrange for you to have your own territories.”

The first option already surprised them all. Angora City may have declined throughout the years, but it was still a capital city regardless. Back in the days, it had the same prestige and popularity as Metropolis!

They couldn’t believe that the territory Michael mentioned was Angora City. They would have thought that his territory would only be a small town or village.

“Wait, Angora City is your territory?! How is that even possible?!” Otto wondered.

“Long story short, I’m their sponsor. I have a good working relationship with Duke Stelmane.”

They all gasped. Michael’s background was a lot deeper than they could have ever imagined. With Angora City under his control, the entirety of the Southern Tip of the Queens region was practically his!

“If you want something better than Angora City, then you can go to my nation in the Parched Lands.”

“YOU OWN A NATION?!?!”

Their shouts gathered a few curious stares from the carriages lining up on the gates of Metropolis.

“Yeah, I own a nation. It’s in the Kings region.”

Rhena remembered something about the Parched Lands. “Isn’t that a desolate desert?”

“It was. But we turned into a habitable zone. There was even snow last month.”

They all couldn’t help but have a tinge of disbelief in their faces. Snow in a desert was a completely paradoxical sentence that was inherently hard to believe.

“I can show you guys around if you’d like.”

They all looked at each other, before nodding in agreement. “It’ll take months before we get there, but I think it’ll be worth it to see that miracle.”

“Nah, it’ll just take a second,” he said as he activated his shadow ability and teleported him and everyone else back into the Nation of Reborn.

Otto and the others were startled once they saw this dark shadow cover their entire field of view. But a second later, the shadow recessed back into Michael’s feet and allowed them to see a completely new scenery that looked like it came straight out of a fantasy book.

“…WOAH…”

“What is this place?!”

“Are those the mobile stalls that you used? And they’re all running on the streets?! There’s no carriages or horses?!”

The concrete buildings, the flat roads, the automobiles, the lights…everything was a completely new concept to them. Michael estimated that it would take them a few hours to completely get caught up on all the inventions of the Nation of Reborn.

Thankfully, the always-present Mayor of the Nation arrived just in time.

Lolo bowed at Michael’s visitors and immediately introduced himself to them.

“Welcome to the Nation of Reborn. I am Lolo, and I will help you see the wonders of our Nation.”

As expected of a professional, Lolo led the four out through the streets of the nation like sheep. They were completely silent, with their constant gasps knocking the wind out of their lungs.

Michael winked at Lolo and thanked him for such timely moves.

At the end of the day, Lolo returned with the four of them.

“So? What did you all think?”

Their eyes were completely bloodshot as they stared at Michael. “WE’LL LIVE HERE!”

Michael went back to their headquarters and met with Sheina, Castelle, and the rest of the crew.

“Lord Michael, I have already arranged for our new subcompanies to establish their footing in our nation,” Sheina reported.

All four of them decided to move their entire business and their families to the Nation of Reborn after seeing how amazing this place was.

They told him that this paradise was infinitely better than what they had been hoping for back in Metropolis. They were even thanking the Iron Maiden that they didn’t pass the permit test or else they wouldn’t have been fortunate enough to find the Nation of Reborn.

They integrated quite fast, seeing as they were already believing in the unofficial and unsanctioned religion of the Nation of Reborn.

Michael offered to help them with their move, and they were so thankful that they decided to become subsidiaries to the Reborn company. This meant that they would offer a part of their monetary income to Michael in exchange for their help.

Since this was beneficial for him, he accepted.

“As for Angora City, the construction of the sewer and plumbing system has already been implemented and we are getting extremely good feedback. Our next agenda would be to create a connection with the train back in Neo Orcus,” Sheina added.

“How about the Golden Road?” he asked her.

“We have reached Batchrock Town, Lord Michael. We are now on our way to Metropolis.”

That was extremely good news. Once the roads connected, he could start selling automobiles in Metropolis. He estimated that this would be his biggest business there if that happened.

Sheina continued to report on all the things that Michael missed during his stint in Metropolis.

“Is that all?”

Sheina shook her head. “You missed something important while you were there, Lord Michael.”

He looked at her, confused. “Really? What?”

“Your birthday, Lord Michael. Congratulations on turning 13 years old.”

He was so preoccupied with the tournament that he completely forgot his birthday. Though, he could have forgotten about it subconsciously because he knew that he didn’t want any large celebrations for his birthday.

“Oh, don’t worry honey. We celebrated your birthday throughout all our territories,” Lylia said, hugging Michael from behind and nuzzling her head on his hair.

“Bro Mike! You missed out on the parties!” Zion shouted.

“Hohoho! How could you have forgotten about your own birthday? How shameful, Michael.”

“Grieve. You don’t even know your own birthday,” he replied.

“Oh that’s right. I forgot hohohoho!”

In truth, even if he did remember his birthday, he wouldn’t take time out of his busy schedule to celebrate it.

All of his focus now was in establishing Reborn in Metropolis. He needed to prepare for the arrival of the tourists if he wanted to have a chance at getting Soo.

After using the Drone upgrades in battle, he couldn’t help but greed for more. He yearned for more drops just like an addict.

“Castelle, start the preparation for building our headquarters in Metropolis. I’ll give you all the details later.”

“Of course, Young Master.”

And it was at that moment that he felt a tug from one of his clones that he left behind in Metropolis.

Someone was asking for his attention.

After looking through it, he realized that it came from Jimmy, their news correspondent.
