Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player
Chapter 882: Third Circle, Cerberus (part 4)The icy air of the third layer of Hell enveloped everyone like a gloomy cloak, their eyes fixed on the three heads of Cerberus.
The spear of blood glowed brightly in Kaizen's hands, emanating a palpable, vibrant energy.
The monster, now with its attention divided between Alina, Og'tharoz, Andrew and Kaizen, showed signs of growing fury and despair. The chains that bound it were tense, each link tinkling under the pressure of the bestial giant.
Kaizen took a deep breath, feeling the coldness of the air fill his lungs. His body, however, was hot with adrenaline and determination. His muscles prepared for the throwing motion, his heart beating to the rhythm of the impending battle. He knew that precision was crucial, that the slightest mistake could mean defeat. Beside him, Bloody Lily watched with piercing eyes, ready to act if necessary.
"Kaizen, remember, strength isn't everything. Precision is essential," advised Lily in a low but firm voice, full of experience and wisdom.
"I know," replied Kaizen, his eyes never straying from Cerberus. "I won't fail again."
He raised the spear, his fingers fitting tightly around the handle.
The sensation of power flowing through the spear of blood was intoxicating, every vibration, every pulse, a reminder of Blood Lily's unparalleled strength.
Kaizen adjusted his posture, planting his feet firmly on the icy ground. He visualized the launch, the trajectory the spear would take, and Cerberus' vulnerable points.
The monster, however, was no ordinary enemy. The three heads, still struggling against the chains, sensed the threat. The central head, with its flaming eyes full of malice and intelligence, locked onto Kaizen.
The other heads followed suit, snarling in unison, their huge, sharp fangs glinting in the dim light.
"You will never pass," growled the central head, his words laden with hatred and determination. "As long as I am the guardian of this circle, your defeat is guaranteed."
Kaizen didn't reply. He knew that words wouldn't break the chains or defeat the guardian. It was action that counted. He inhaled deeply one last time, and then, with a quick, precise movement, he threw the spear.
The air around the spear buzzed with the displacement, the red energy tracing a bright trail as it cut through the space between Kaizen and Cerberus.
The monster's eyes followed the trajectory, its three heads moving in sinister synchronism. When the spear was only a few meters away from hitting its target, the Cerberus' central head acted.
With surprising speed for a creature of its size, the central head launched itself forward, its jaws opening in a deafening roar. The teeth collided with the blood spear in a brutal impact, a metallic sound echoing through the icy mountains.
The spear, despite its strength and power, was unable to withstand the crushing pressure of the monster's jaws. With a snap, the spear shattered, shards of red energy scattering into the cold air.

Kaizen felt a shiver run down his spine. He had underestimated Cerberus' speed and strength.
However, there was time for hesitation. He knew that Alina and Andrew were counting on him not to be killed. Failure was not an option. He turned to Bloody Lily, who was already prepared to create another spear if necessary.
"That won't work anymore. We've lost the element of surprise." he said quickly. "He's faster than I thought."
"I know," replied Lily, her eyes quickly assessing the situation. "Let's try a different approach."
Kaizen then jumped up from where he was and took off at a run towards Cerberus.
Meanwhile, Alina continued to inscribe the runes on the chain, her hands moving with almost supernatural precision.
Each symbol she drew glowed brightly for a moment in the air before merging with the chain. She could feel the ancient magic responding to her touch, the resistance of the chain slowly diminishing.
"Almost there..." she muttered to herself, her breath short and quick.
Andrew, on the other hand, was struggling to keep Cerberus' right head on the ground. His armor glowed brightly with holy magic, the runes engraved on it pulsing with light. However, each time he pulled the chain, he felt the monster's brutal resistance, but his determination did not waver.
"Og'tharoz, keep him distracted!" shouted Andrew, his muscles burning with the effort.
"You got it!" Og'tharoz shouted, already under the Cerberus' heads before the monster even noticed.
Then Og'tharoz raised both hands and a thick black cloud came out of his fingers, spreading through the air, heading upwards like smoke from a chimney. Og'tharoz's demonic magic was an almost palpable force, and as he muttered arcane incantations, the black cloud began to shape itself into two huge shadowy hands.
The spectral hands, filled with an ancient and evil power, floated through the air until they reached the Cerberus' side heads. The monster noticed the presence of the hands and roared fiercely and tried to bite, but at this point it was like literally trying to bite through smoke, it had no effect.
Suddenly, these spectral hands firmly grasped the Cerberus' side heads, and with a tremendous effort, began to push one head against the other.
The sound of creaking bones and roars of agony echoed across the battlefield, resounding through the icy mountains like a sinister chorus.
"It won't be easy to tame this beast," thought Og'tharoz, his brows furrowed in intense concentration. He was aware of the imminent danger they faced, but his determination was unwavering.
The Cerberus roared again, now more furious, and Andrew had to dodge quickly to avoid being hit by one of the monster's tails. He ducked his head, and the tail passed very close to the chain he was holding.
"Almost there..." muttered Alina to herself, her breath short and quick, and suddenly a shout echoed across the battlefield. "I did it!" Alina exclaimed, her voice filled with relief and triumph.
She had finished enchanting the chains on Cerberus' left side, and now the runes glowed with an intense light, forming a magical barrier around the creature. Thus, they were closer than ever to completing their plan.
"Jayaa! Now!" Blood Lily said as she flew towards Cerberus with her blood wings.
