Once dinner came to a close, An-rin got Chii and Kushii to follow her to the second floor for a quick change out of their school uniforms.
I remained behind and set about tidying up the dining table. The clinking of plates and bowls, and the faint scent of savory dishes filled the kitchen as I organized the remnants of our feast.
Wait, feast? Feast with only one dish. In the end, we still ended up eating An-rin’s yogurt for dessert. The girl indignantly handed it to us before telling me I had to buy her more of it next time.
Mhm. Turns out, she’s a yogurt gyaru. She’s eating one every meal.
Anyway, Chii had insisted I wait for her so she could help me with the dishes, but with little else to occupy my time except for sending a quick update to my other girls, I found myself finishing the chores well before their return.
SNAP!
The sound of a camera snapping took me out of my trance as I found myself turning toward the source of the noise.
An-rin stood at the base of the stairs, her phone raised with a mischievous grin plastered across her face. She’d ditched the pirate hook and eye-patch but kept the feather boa, now paired with a baggy shirt and neon pink shorts that seemed fitting for her motif of being a chaotic gremlin.
Chii and Kushii trailed behind her, both in comfy sleepover attire. Chii was in a soft oversized hoodie and leggings and Kushii was in a black tank top with star-patterned pajama pants.
“Yo, Onoda-han, caught ya lookin’ all domestic!” An-rin chuckled, waving her phone like she’d just snagged a prize as the photo she took was displayed on the screen. “This pic’s goin’ straight to our group chat with a tag that says ‘Chef Onoda-han slays the kitchen!'”
I wiped my hands on a dish towel and glared at her, albeit not that sharply. “An-rin, what’s with the sneak attack? And feel free to post it. I bet I have a lot of admirers in your group chat. I mean, I’m a celebrity now, right?”
Ending that with a smug grin, I took off the apron I had put on again and walked over to them.
An-rin was taken aback, most likely not expecting me to act like that.
She blinked rapidly as her grin faltered for a split second before she recovered, puffing out her chest.
“Pfft, celebrity? Onoda-han, don’t get cocky! You’re, like, our celebrity, so don’t let it go to your head, ‘kay?”
I smirked, tossing the dish towel over my shoulder like some kinda TV chef. “Too late, An-rin. I heard I already have a fan club. Bet they’ll be begging for more of my photos if you send that in your group chat.”
Chii giggled as she closed in on me, wrapping her arms around my waist, her hoodie sleeves slipping down to reveal her slender wrists. “Kii, don’t tease her too much. She’ll spam the chat with your pics and call it a ‘fan club starter pack’. You know how An-rin is.”
Yeah. I don’t know if that’s a good idea or not. Surely, their group chat, which I assume to be filled with gyaru like them, shouldn’t be part of those who started admiring me, right?
Uh… Why am I somehow not believing that?
“Yo, that’s a genius idea, Chizuru!” An-rin’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she tapped away at her phone, probably already drafting some chaotic post. “I’m totally makin’ a collage. ‘Onoda-han: Chef, Thug-Slayer, Heartbreaker.’ Whaddaya think?”
Kushii let out a soft huff as she took the final few steps of their stairs. “You’re gonna crash the chat with that, An-rin. And don’t drag me into your mess when people start asking who took the pics.”
“Psh, Kushii, you’re my co-conspirator now!” An-rin shot back, sticking out her tongue. “Besides, you were totally checkin’ him out while he was cookin’ earlier. Don’t think I didn’t see ya!”
Kushii’s face flushed, her dark eyes darting away as she tugged at a strand of her hair. “I-I was just… looking. That’s all. Am I not allowed to do so?”
I raised an eyebrow, catching the faint crack in her facade. “Sure, Kushii. You’re allowed to. I’ll take that as a compliment. I’m worth staring at, right?”
She muttered something barely audible under her breath and turned her head to hide her blush.
Chii poked my side with a playful scowl. “Kii, stop making her flustered! You’re already making me jealous with all this charm.”
“I’m not charming anyone though. Besides, you’re already hogging me,” I teased as I leaned down to plant a quick kiss on her forehead. She squeaked a little as she buried her face in my chest.
Perhaps finding another great angle, An-rin snapped another pic. “Ooh, caught in 4K! You two are, like, too cute! This one’s definitely goin’ viral!”
“An-rin, how is that going to go viral? Shouldn’t I be the subject of most rumors circulating in our school by now?”
She tilted her head as if clueless to what I just said.
Well, thinking about it, those rumors were probably just making the rounds to those who gossip actively. As for these gyarus, they’re more focused on themselves and perhaps, those opposite of them, the popular girls who didn’t need makeup to be popular and perhaps the diligent students like Mio.
Kushii sighed, shaking her head but clearly amused. “You’re hopeless, An-rin. Let’s just… set up for the night, okay? Before you turn this into a reality show.”
After saying that, she winked at me as though saying, ‘leave this girl to me’.
Chii gave her a thumbs up before pulling me out of the kitchen and into the hallway, away from their eyes.
“Kii, where are your change of clothes? Is it in your bag? Should I get it for you?”
“Mhm. But Chii, why bring me here to ask that? You know, I can just pick it up from my bag.”
“Well… because…” As she trailed her voice, the girl lifted her head as her arms moved from my waist to loop around my neck, pulling my head down.
She clasped her lips, wetting them before parting them open.
I guess I don’t need to ask her anymore what she wants to do.
Wrapping my arms around her waist, I pulled her closer to me. I took a good few seconds just admiring her makeup-less face, which was simply more gorgeous than when she put light makeup on.
Even though her hair also had some highlights and hair extensions that they loved to use, her natural beauty was simply superb. I caressed her cheek and brushed my thumb on her wet lips before leaning in, closing the gap between us.
As our lips overlapped for an affectionate kiss, her fingers tightened around my neck, pulling me even closer. The chaos of An-rin’s apartment faded into the background. The faint noise of the city outside, the distant clatter of An-rin and Kushii bickering in the living room all melted away. Just me and Chii, stealing a moment that felt like ours alone.
She pulled back slightly. And there, I saw her half-lidded eyes sparkling with affection as her lips stretched into a sweet smile.
“Kii,” She whispered, “How am I going to focus on this sleepover if you keep kissing me like this?”
I smirked and gave her waist a gentle squeeze. “Oh, so it’s my fault now? You’re the one who dragged me into hallways for secret makeout sessions, Chii. I’m just following your lead.”
Her cheeks flushed but she didn’t back down, her fake gyaru pout making a quick comeback. “Excuse you, I’m just… quality-testing your kissing skills. Gotta make sure you’re still up to par, y’know?”
“Quality-testing, huh? After all of our kisses earlier?” I tilted my head, pretending to consider it. “Well, how’d I do? Five stars? Or do I need to step up my game?”
She giggled as she lightly pinched my cheek before leaning in to rest her forehead against mine. “Mmm, five point five stars. It’s more than perfect, Kii. But still not enough for me.”
“Five point five and still not enough? That’s harsh, Chii,” I said, feigning offense before kissing her one more time, earning another soft laugh from her. “Guess I’ll have to earn more stars later. Maybe during the seance when An-rin’s screaming about ghosts.”
“Pfft. What if she jumps at you? Will you catch her?”
“I’ll pass her to you.”
“Hey! I’ll be crushed by her weight. Just… set her down, okay?”
“Sure. Sure. Anyway, wanna kiss more? Or maybe… do more than kissing?”
“P-pervert… As if we can do that when they’re nearby.”
“I didn’t hear a no,” I smirked as my hand slid a little further to her backside, cupping her squishy pair.
“Kii, you’re impossible! Behave, or I’ll make you sleep outside…” Chii let out a squeak as her cheeks became crimson red. Still, she didn’t remove my hands from cupping her ass.
Slowly, I started fondling them and Chii’s hand tightened on my hair.
“Sleep outside, huh? Then I’ll just have to ask them to let you sleep outside with me.”
Upon saying that, I pushed her against the wall and once again claimed her lips.
