Chapter 2030: [We finally meet, The Princess who rose from the Chains.]

“My Queen.”

A being with greyish skin and crimson eyes called out in a low, respectful, but powerful voice.

The said being was easily one of the strongest Transcendents in Khaemorr, a being who had all the right to be arrogant and command almost any being in the world—even the other Transcendents. Right now, however, the being kept his head low. His crimson eyes showed respect so deep that it could easily be mistaken for reverence.

In front of him sat a beautiful, almost otherworldly being on a throne made of materials unknown to most of the world.

The woman was surrounded by darkness. She had long, wild greyish hair that flowed like smoke, and two massive, curved horns rose from her head, adding to her fearsome beauty.

Just like her subordinate, her eyes glowed red. They were sharp, cold, and dangerous, yet… strangely captivating.

Even when she had a serene, calm expression on her face, the presence she radiated was… intimidating—like the calm before a terrible storm.

She wore a black cloak that seemed to melt into the darkness around her, and tiny red sparks flickered near her, as if prepared to devour anyone who got too close. The space around her twisted ever so slightly, as if her presence was too strong and reality itself was struggling to contain her.

Her face had what seemed like cracks, as if her body was barely holding all her power together and was ready to burst. Honestly, it looked quite frightening.

However, despite how she looked, there was something noble in the way she carried herself—tall and proud.

She was terrifying… terrifyingly beautiful.

*Picture*

Yes, she was the Queen who rose from the Chains.

Sharnoth Nocthys.

“What is it?”

The Queen questioned, her crimson gaze falling on her subordinate.

“Dulcia Von Saccharis, the Progenitor of Scorvanes, the Leader of Saccharis, wishes to send you an artifact.

He says that a potential ally wishes to talk to you.”

“A potential ally?”

Sharnoth raised her eyebrow.

“Yes.

He says that if you wish to talk, you can activate the artifact he sends you.”

“…”

Sharnoth stayed silent, waiting for her subordinate to continue.

This matter obviously wasn’t something someone like her had to deal with—unless the ‘potential’ ally was from another High-Level World. Her subordinates should have been able to take care of it.

So if her subordinate had brought this up, Sharnoth was actually somewhat interested. Her subordinate’s next words, however, disappointed her.

“When I contacted Dulcia to know more about this potential ally, he told me that he is part of that mercenary party that rose a few thousand years ago and made a mess around the Lowest and Lower Level Worlds.”

“The one with a strange name?”

Sharnoth frowned.

“That is correct. It seems that the Vampire from that party has broken through and has become a Transcendent, quite a strong one.”

The subordinate nodded.

“…”

Sharnoth, however, was silent.

This time, a little disappointed.

Sure, she was interested in that mercenary party with the strange name, but that was it—she was merely curious. This didn’t mean she would personally go out of her way to discuss terms with them.

No matter how strong that Vampire was, in the end, she was just that—a Transcendent.

Actually, Sharnoth was now wondering why her subordinate even brought something like this up in the first place. He should have already activated the artifact and contacted the party.

As if he already knew what his Queen was thinking, the subordinate continued,

“I tried contacting them. However, the moment I got in contact with that being, something happened.”

Sharnoth frowned.

“He said, ‘You are not her,’ and ended the connection.

The artifact in my hands turned into dust. It seems like it can only be used once.”

“Huh…?”

“He is looking for you, My Queen, and he refuses to talk to anyone but you.”

“A mere Transcendent wishes to talk to me?”

Sharnoth raised her eyebrow once again.

“Transcendent-level Vampire is his wife. We still do not know how strong that man is. He seems to have an artifact that hides his strength, and that artifact is quite strong.”

“Is that so…?”

Sharnoth nodded.

“Do you have an estimate as to how strong he is?”

She questioned. The subordinate, however, shook his head.

He was unsure.

The information he had was too limited, and this once again confused Sharnoth.

“Why did you bring this up, Shakel?”

She questioned directly.

She was getting impatient.

She didn’t have the time to deal with a Transcendent and her husband who seemed more interested in playing games than having an actual conversation.

The meta everyone followed in the universe was the same: if you wish to have a proper conversation, you reveal your origins and your strength.

If your origins are strong enough, the conversation can happen.

Yet, here he was, a member of a mere mercenary party, trying to talk to her while hiding his strength. Clearly, he was trying his luck, and Sharnoth still did not know why she was entertaining this.

If Shakel wasn’t one of her most loyal subordinates for a long time, she would have already dismissed him.

Right now, however, she decided to give Shakel the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to continue.

Shakel bowed his head and continued,

“Dulcia isn’t the only one who sent this, Your Majesty.”

“Huh…?”

“When I first contacted that man after receiving Dulcia’s message and he ended the connection, I simply decided to discard the matter because of how arrogant he seemed. It felt like he was doing all this for a show, and I didn’t wish to bother the Queen to deal with some fanatic who was interested in strange theatrics.

But then, I received more messages.

Mortifera Tenebris, the Progenitor of Ashen Veils, the High Arbiter of Oblivion,

Vespera Nocturna, the Progenitor of Twilight Spires, the Architect of Eternal Dusk,

Ignatius Pyreborn, the Progenitor of Emberflames, the Warden of the Burning Covenant,

Seraphina Obsidias, the Progenitor of Onyx Thorns, the Matriarch of the Shattered Sanctum,

And about fifteen other leaders of Middle-Level Worlds sent the same artifact—all with the same message.”

“Fifteen…?”

Sharnoth raised her eyebrow.

“Yes.

They also told me how this man’s wife annihilated their enemy’s Progenitors within a single move, and returned to them with their heads, solving wars that have been ongoing for thousands of years as a ‘gift’ to deliver this message.”

Sharnoth narrowed her eyes at those words. Her interest was once again piqued. Shakel, knowing this, continued further.

“Even if this was all theatrics, I could no longer ignore this.

Solving wars that have been going on for thousands of years within a single day—these beings clearly aren’t simple.

They definitely have a strong power over Space to teleport from one place to another. That Vampire is strong enough to completely ignore the effect of a World’s Suppression and deal with other Transcendents like they are mere bugs. They also seem to have another artifact that allows them to escape a World Will’s detection, making them nigh-perfect assassins.

They are resourceful.

Too resourceful, in fact.

If we could recruit them, we could change the entire course of the war in our favor. It will be the lead we have always been looking for, and eventually, Aurendor would have no choice but to face us directly.

It was a chance to finally get what we had been looking for all this while, so I decided to lower myself and activate another artifact, wanting to talk to that man again.

He tried to end the connection, but this time, I managed to get something out of him.

He…

He says he has a message for you.”

“A message for me?”

Sharnoth frowned.

“Yes.”

Shakel nodded.

“What is it?”

“He says he wishes to meet you alone.”

“Huh…?”

Sharnoth frowned. Shakel, on the other hand, stared at her and,

“I do not want anyone around her when we talk. Anyone. I wish to meet her alone, without her thoughts being influenced by someone.

This is what he said. He seemed quite adamant about you being alone when you talk to him. He even said that he wanted you to form a domain and alter it in a way that no being, in any form—be it body or Soul Form—other than you can survive in that doma—”

“What did you say?”

Sharnoth, who had barely shown any expression till now, suddenly reacted.

Shakel frowned.

“No one other than you should be in that domain…?”

He answered, repeating his words.

“The Soul Form—did that man use those words?”

“Yes, he did. I did not understand what it meant, but there were a lot of things that he said that didn’t make sense. The Queen does no—”

“Give me the artifact.”

Sharnoth demanded, interrupting Shakel again.

Shakel frowned. He did as he was told. His Queen’s actions, however, surprised him.

Sharnoth didn’t care. She grabbed the artifact, then she glanced at Shakel and,

“Leave.”

She ordered.

Even though he was confused, Shakel did as he was told obediently. Sharnoth, who was now left alone, suddenly spoke up.

“You too, leave.”

“Sharno—”

The Queen then activated an artifact and from the other side, she and the ‘Soul’ around her heard a voice—a voice the Soul found extremely familiar.
