Chapter 2052: He wasn’t overpowered, he was outsmarted.

Once Sharnoth broke through and became a Sovereign, Zylarith no longer had to play an active role as her Master.

His aim was to change Sharnoth’s Core and help her be reborn as a being of Chaos. With Sharnoth forming the Law of Absolute Chaos, that goal was achieved.

Clearly, Sharnoth now understood Chaos—enough to form an Absolute Law at that. Even in Chaosveil at its prime, her Law would be counted as one of the strongest. But from here on out,

Sharnoth didn’t need to understand Chaos—she needed to understand her Law.

And that was the path she had to walk on her own.

The second part of her growth began; it was time for the sheltered bird that Zylarith protected all these years to fly on her own.

Zylarith took away all the Relics he had given to her. The little girl was now alone in the dead world, full of dangerous beasts. The cloak that she had been using all this while to hide from them was no longer with her.

She had to live on her own. She had to set up her own camp, she had to keep watch on her own, she had to scour for her own food, and… she had to fight her own battles.

Since this was the first time the little girl was actually going to face real threats, Zylarith stayed with her for the first few times. Soon, however, the old soul realized something.

Sharnoth wasn’t normal.

It wasn’t just her body being suitable to cultivate Chaos energy—she herself was a monster far beyond anything he could imagine.

Within a few battles, she got the hang of it. Because her understanding of Chaos was so high, and Chaos itself was such a strong energy, she quickly realized how to use this dangerous energy to deal with her opponents.

In just a few years, she had already started creating techniques that surprised even Zylarith—techniques that would have caused a commotion if they were ever released in the Chaosveil market.

It didn’t take long for her to start fighting multiple opponents at the same time. Even the beasts at the Primordial Level—while Sharnoth couldn’t defeat them, she could still get away from them by messing with their senses.

As the battles she fought became harder and harder, her understanding of her Law became deeper and deeper. Adding to that the fact that Chaos flowed in her body like it was its home, this allowed her to advance at a rate that was almost as quick as Zylarith’s himself.

Zylarith even decided to leave the girl alone in this world. Without his presence, if something unexpected happened, Sharnoth would die. But the girl did not show fear.

Rather, she looked forward to the challenge.

So for the first time in her life, the girl was alone in a world full of mindless enemies.

And in this world, despite not being the strongest, she was the devil incarnate. She hunted day and night, fighting numerous beasts that no being at her level should be fighting.

There were times she won, there were times when she was defeated, but never once did she give up.

Even when she was gravely injured, she never backed down from a fight and unleashed hell on the poor beasts that encountered her.

By the time Zylarith returned, she had turned into a monster in her own right. Within just five thousand years, she had reached the level of Transcendent—Peak Transcendent.

With the strongest beasts in this world being at the Transcendent Level as well, it wasn’t even a fair battle any longer.

Sharnoth had become an Apex Predator—a being who made these mindless beasts tremble in fear just at the sight of her.

She no longer needed to hunt for food; the mindless beasts brought food to her themselves. Not just that, they guarded her from possible enemies; they used their abilities to set up a camp for her. Yes, Sharnoth had started to rule them as their Queen.

And when Zylarith saw this, although surprised, he nodded to himself,

“It is time.”

He muttered.

“What?”

Sharnoth questioned. Now that she had grown up, she looked like an exact copy of her mother. Zylarith stared at her face and,

“To leave this place.”

“Huh?”

Sharnoth frowned.

“You were not planning on staying here for the rest of your life, were you? Or have you perhaps gotten too comfortable here and already forgot why you accepted my help in the first place?”

Zylarith questioned. His words, however, instantly got a reaction out of Sharnoth,

“I am still not strong enough.”

She remembered how strong the Herald of Justice was. She was strong, yes, and even though she had come up with a few techniques that might work against that being, in the end, there was a difference of an entire Phase between them.

An Absolute Difference that she wouldn’t be able to overcome no matter what. The only option was to break through and become an Eternal herself—only then would facing that heinous bastard be possible.

“Obviously, you aren’t strong enough to face him yet.”

Zylarith, however, snorted at her words.

“You think I am telling you to go to him right now?”

Sharnoth stared at her master with a frown.

“You think defeating him would be possible even if you became stronger than him?”

“Is that not…”

Sharnoth couldn’t understand.

Wasn’t that how the Universe worked?

She would obviously be able to defeat him when she was stronger than him, no?

“Don’t be a fool.

The Universe isn’t a jungle with just mindless beasts roaming around. While strength is important, it isn’t the sole factor that decides the outcome of a War.

If that was the case, you think your Father would have lost?”

“My Father didn’t lose; he was ambushed and outnum—”

The Princess was quick to defend her Father’s honor, but,

“His World fell, he is dead, his wife is dead, and his daughter is on the run.

He lost.”

Zylarith declared coldly.

“And he didn’t lose because he wasn’t strong enough—no, he was plenty strong. He lost because he lost the Battle of Interest.”

“Battle of Interest?”

“Gathering subordinates, creating a Faction, finding allies, and using those allies to your benefit—

This was the battle he lost. This was the reason he was ambushed and outnumbered.

He wasn’t overpowered.

He was outsmarted.

And now, it is time to make sure the same doesn’t happen to you.”
