Swallowed Star 2: Origin Continent
Chapter 125: Banquet Hosted by Lord YuanxiuWhile Luo Feng was deeply immersed in his cultivation, a Chaos Realm Transcendent arrived in the Chu Capital.
In one of Marquis Chufeng’s estates.
“Senior Brother has arrived.”
A handsome man with three eyes gazed into the distance, immediately standing up. Marquis Chufeng also rose, watching as a figure in the distance seemed to approach rapidly. The figure was draped in a dark robe, simple yet subtly tattered. At first glance, the robe appeared to be a worn-out, dark garment, but upon closer inspection, it seemed more like a fragmented, dark world.
The figure’s face was marked with green scales, giving him an ugly appearance, yet his eyes were calm and gentle, as if they contained entire worlds within them.
As he walked, the surrounding environment naturally bent to his presence, as if the very heavens and earth revolved around him.
Mastering even one branch of the Origin Path could make one a Divine King! A complete understanding of the Origin Path of Life could evolve the operational laws of the Primal Universe. Even a branch of the Great Dao could sustain the operational laws of a small universe.
Through this mastery, Divine Kings could create small universes.
Divine Kings inherently embodied the laws of the universe, possessing unimaginable abilities. For instance, when this dark-robed figure walked, with the heavens and earth revolving around him, it was a common phenomenon for a Divine King.
“Lord Yuanxiu is supposedly only a Chaos Realm Transcendent, yet he can influence the operation of the heavens and earth. He’s even more terrifying than when I last saw him,” Marquis Chufeng thought in astonishment, immediately stepping forward to greet him.
“Senior Brother, this is Marquis Chufeng,” the handsome three-eyed man said with a smile as he approached.
“Marquis Chufeng greets Lord Yuanxiu,” Marquis Chufeng said humbly.
A Chaos Realm Transcendent was equivalent to a first-realm Divine King. Such beings rarely paid attention to First-Class Marquises. It was always the Marquises who sought their favor, and whether they acknowledged the Marquises or not depended on their mood.
“The last time I saw Marquis Chufeng, he was still a Second-Class Marquis,” Lord Yuanxiu said with a smile. “And now, you’ve become a First-Class Marquis! To reach this level with a standard divine body is indeed impressive, Marquis Chufeng.”
“You flatter me, Lord Yuanxiu. Please, have a seat,” Marquis Chufeng said warmly.
The three of them soon took their seats, and attendants brought in food and drink.
“I hear you’re here in the Chu Capital to visit a Divine King?” Marquis Chufeng asked.
“This time in the Chu Capital, I do indeed intend to visit a Divine King. However, I’ve also heard that there’s a Chaos Realm Transcendent here named Luo He the Great Sage,” Lord Yuanxiu said, clearly intrigued.
Marquis Chufeng nodded. “Luo He the Great Sage is very mysterious and rarely shows his strength. It wasn’t until he fought against five peak Chaos Realm beings and defeated them with ease that his true power became known.”
“So reserved, it seems he’s also focused on cultivation. Marquis Chufeng, I’d like to meet this Luo He the Great Sage for a discussion. Could you help arrange it and see if he’d be willing?” Lord Yuanxiu asked.
Marquis Chufeng’s spirits lifted.
He wasn’t afraid of a Chaos Realm Transcendent asking for his help—he feared that a Chaos Realm Transcendent might not even bother to acknowledge him.
“Rest assured, Lord Yuanxiu. I will arrange everything perfectly,” Marquis Chufeng replied.
…
While Luo Feng was cultivating, he occasionally took breaks to relax his mind.
“Master, Marquis Chufeng paid you a visit,” Morosa informed Luo Feng. “You were in seclusion at the time, so I didn’t disturb you.”
“He came to visit?” Luo Feng was surprised.
After all, Marquis Chufeng was a First-Class Marquis of the royal family. Yet, when Luo Feng was in seclusion, this First-Class Marquis had simply left without causing a fuss—quite respectful of the rules. ᚱÄƝȯ฿Ëṧ
“Did he mention why he came?” Luo Feng asked.
“Marquis Chufeng said his friend, Lord Yuanxiu, wishes to host a banquet for you and engage in a discussion. His visit was to see if you were willing to attend,” Morosa explained.
“Discuss the Dao? Lord Yuanxiu?” Luo Feng knew who this was. The Emperor Chu Lineage had only two Chaos Realm Transcendents.
One was Marquis Minghuo, a direct disciple of Emperor Chu.
The other was Lord Yuanxiu, a direct disciple of the ruler of the first-rate nation, the Myriad Realms Kingdom.
The Origin Continent had three major first-rate powers: Tianmu Kingdom, Myriad Realms Kingdom, and East Polar Domain.
The East Polar Domain was the last refuge for the native inhabitants of the Origin Continent, who, though lacking in wisdom and insight, were powerful enough when united to form a first-rate power.
Tianmu Kingdom was dominated by a peak Boundary Beast.
Myriad Realms Kingdom rose to prominence because of its ruler, who alone elevated his nation to first-rate status. As one of the continent’s most powerful beings, the ruler of Myriad Realms Kingdom had many disciples, some of whom served as guest elders in both the Ancient Thunder Kingdom and the Ancient Flame Kingdom.
“Master, will you attend the banquet?” Morosa asked.
“Agree to it,” Luo Feng nodded. A discussion with a strong peer interested him.
After all, Chaos Realm Transcendents like Lord Yuanxiu, who cultivated using Primordial Objects or Primordial Bloodlines, were the norm on the Origin Continent. This would be a good opportunity to compare himself to them.
…
Chu Capital, Thirteen Stars Hall. Lord Yuanxiu had arranged a banquet here specifically to host Luo He the Great Sage.
The Thirteen Stars Hall was renowned across the Ancient Flame Kingdom, built by Emperor Chu himself after a gathering of the kingdom’s thirteen emperors in the Chu Capital. After that historic gathering, the hall became famous, and hosting an event there was an expensive affair.
Marquis Chufeng had taken care of all the arrangements, ensuring the event was grand and impressive.
“Two Chaos Realm Transcendents discussing the Dao! How rare!”
“I heard that besides Marquis Chu Yuan, the other six First-Class Marquises are all attending.”
“Too bad we won’t get to witness it.”
Some of the chefs preparing the food whispered among themselves. They were all well-known chefs in the Chu Capital, each an Eternal True God. Today, one of the main chefs was even a Chaos Realm being, personally invited by Marquis Chufeng.
In another pavilion.
“Sister Yu, I pulled every string to get you a spot to perform in front of the hall today,” a plump man advised. “Today, the highest echelons of the Chu Capital are gathered—six of the seven First-Class Marquises, two Chaos Realm Transcendents, and over a dozen Divine King direct disciples. If even one of them takes a liking to you, you could escape your current predicament.”
“Marquis Chule, I can’t thank you enough! Without your help, I might not have survived to this day,” the woman in green said gratefully.
“Sigh, I’m just a Third-Class Marquis in the royal family, with no real power,” the plump man said, shaking his head. “In the Chu Capital, I can’t compare to those Chaos Realm beings with actual authority.”
The Emperor Chu Lineage had 29 Marquises, but only two were at the level of ordinary Chaos Realm strength. This Marquis Chule was one of them! To the royal family, Marquises with only ordinary Chaos Realm strength were seen as failures, with no value for further cultivation.
Even a single galaxy blade light from Luo Feng, capable of delivering the full-force strike of a mid-level Chaos Realm being, was far stronger than this Marquis Chule.
Marquis Chule had long accepted his lifestyle and preferred to indulge in pleasures, forming many friendships with like-minded individuals.
“Let me remind you,” the plump man said, “Among the two Chaos Realm Transcendents at this banquet, one is called Luo He the Great Sage. He’s known to enjoy music!”
The woman in green’s eyes lit up.
“This is secret information, and I paid quite a bit of Cosmos Sand to get it,” the plump man said. “When he was in Huyang City, he showed great favor to two musicians who were skilled in music. If your music pleases him today, your status in the Chu Capital will be secure.”
“Thank you, Marquis Chule,” the woman in green said, full of gratitude.
“I’ve done all I can; the rest is up to you,” the plump man said, waving her off as he left.
The woman in green waited patiently. She wasn’t the only performer at this banquet.
…
At the banquet, those seated in the main hall included six First-Class Marquises of the royal family, eight Second-Class Marquises, nine guest elders, and fifteen direct disciples of Divine Kings, along with their attendants and followers. Naturally, the two most important seats were reserved for the two Chaos Realm Transcendents.
“He’s here.”
“Luo He the Great Sage has arrived.”
The banquet was primarily organized to honor Luo He the Great Sage.
When Luo Feng arrived with Marquis Chu Yu, all eyes were on him. The various Marquises, their families,
lesser Chaos Realm beings, servants, and attendants—all eagerly looked on as the black-clad figure appeared.
As Luo Feng stepped into view, Marquis Chu Yu walked slightly behind him.
Whoosh!
Outside the main hall, Lord Yuanxiu appeared in person to greet Luo Feng.
“Brother Luo He,” Lord Yuanxiu said with a smile, addressing Luo Feng.
“Brother Yuanxiu,” Luo Feng replied, smiling as he greeted this Chaos Realm Transcendent. The dark robe Yuanxiu wore seemed to be the center of the world’s laws.
“To influence the operation of the world’s laws?” Luo Feng thought, impressed. This was something he couldn’t yet achieve. In terms of mastery of the Dao, he still lagged behind these Chaos Realm Transcendents.
“Hmm?”
Lord Yuanxiu also observed Luo Feng. His most powerful technique involved the dark prison he cultivated within himself, a prison that could imprison everything within a vast area with just a thought.
“What a terrifying physique,” Lord Yuanxiu thought. The black-clad man before him, whose aura was completely restrained, felt heavier and more solid than the entire vast world around them.
So heavy that trying to drag him into the dark prison would likely be a great challenge!
At Lord Yuanxiu’s level, even without crossing blades, he could already make some assessments with just a glance.
“His physical body is far more formidable than that of some ancient beings who have just entered the Divine King realm,” Lord Yuanxiu thought.
“Brother Luo He, please.”
“Please.”
Both Lord Yuanxiu and Luo Feng were courteous, as this was merely a discussion. Their politeness reflected this.
However, if it had been a battle, the atmosphere would have been entirely different.
As they entered the main hall, the First-Class Marquises, Second-Class Marquises, guest elders, and Divine King direct disciples all rose to greet them before taking their seats.
“Begin the banquet,” Marquis Chufeng ordered.
The banquet officially began, with dish after dish of exquisite food, fine wines, and fruits being served.
Luo Feng tasted them and was pleasantly surprised.
The weakest of these dishes were on par with those made by the Black Butcher of the Fire Realm Restaurant, while some were far superior.
A seemingly simple dish appeared to be a concentration of the essence of the heavens and earth, highly appetizing. Luo Feng took a bite and found that the food’s effect on the soul surpassed that of many natural treasures, heightening his senses and greatly benefiting his cultivation.
“Brother Yu’s culinary skills have become even more impressive,” Lord Yuanxiu remarked, after sampling a dish.
“Achieving Chaos Realm in the culinary arts is indeed remarkable,” Luo Feng acknowledged, aware that this was Yu Jiufang, a guest elder of the Emperor Chu Lineage who had reached the peak of the Chaos Realm through his culinary skills.
In the entire Chu Capital, he was considered the top chef!
“You both flatter me,” Yu Jiufang said as he entered the hall. He might be proud when facing other Marquises, but in front of these two Chaos Realm Transcendents, he was modest.
More and more exquisite dishes, rare fruits, and fine wines were brought out!
There were dances, music, and songs…
The performers at this banquet were at least Eternal True Gods in their respective arts. Those with weaker wills might find their minds easily influenced by these performances, but Luo Feng and the others could enjoy them with ease.
“As expected of the Chu Capital, the performers today are much more skilled than the musicians at Dream Flower Pavilion,” Luo Feng thought, impressed. “I could use this to practice the Seven Emotions Tempering Heart Technique in the future.”
After long years of cultivation, emotions could grow faint, and emotional fluctuations could become minimal. The Seven Emotions Tempering Heart Technique was particularly effective in awakening the heart.
When the performance ended, the woman in green felt the tension ease as the distinguished guests smiled, ate, and conversed. The two Chaos Realm Transcendents at the head of the hall seemed to be chatting, not paying particular attention to her. She didn’t dare to look too closely and, when her time was up, quietly exited.
