The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 833 - 833: Heir Of The Sacred Lifeblood

Genetics…

That is what many races chase after every single day of their lives.

It was believed that with good genetics (body, bloodlin, bones…) and whatever else makes a person whole, their race would never decline but only improve with each generation.

There are many races out there known as hybrid races because they are a combination of two different breeds. There are even tri-brids and those with four, five, and more combinations of DNA.

The demi-human race is a typical example of such a race. Their original genetics aren’t good enough to handle the rising demand of the cultivation world, so they tend to strengthen them using all kinds of methods.

Not that they are to be blamed for that. Most are merely chasing after greatness, a chance to stand at the peak… among the immortals and gods.

So, using unorthodox methods to achieve it is not something to be disgusted by. However, those with good genetics, of course, see themselves as superior.

However, billions of years ago, there was a race that was said to have perfect genetics. They had the perfect bodies, constitution, and bloodline.

It was said they had no problem rising to the peak regardless of how much they trained. Their genetics were perfect.

Naturally, men turned their evil sights on them, and that was when they found out they had in their possession a heaven-defying treasure that was fed to every newborn.

The Sacred Lifeblood that came from the world itself.

The history books speak of the battle at the Siren Sanctuary, one of the most worthless yet destructive battles to this day.

Men, immortals, and gods who chose greed went after the Sacred Lifeblood and slaughtered every last siren in sight just to have a drop of the Sacred Lifeblood.

However, despite every evil thing they did, the Sacred Lifeblood vanished in the end, the remaining sirens also vanished, and the only thing left was their haunting cries.

Nobody knows where the two went. Some say the surviving Sirens took the Sacred Stream with them. Others say it possessed a soul, and so, when it saw the massacre of her people, it chose to hide.

Just like that, men’s dreams of strengthening and perfecting their bodies and bloodlines went out the window until hundreds of thousands of years later, when a prophecy spread, speaking of the day the last weeping siren would rise and reclaim her birthright.

Today, Klaus is witnessing the awakening of the last weeping siren.

The tribulation lasted for two hours, but Tess managed to pass despite its harrowing nature.

Thankfully, the Tears of Eternal Grief and her impeccable control of the ice element helped her pass. Now, she is encased in an elegant ice fortress that keeps singing.

“This tune sounds familiar,” Klaus said, paying attention to the song coming from the ice fortress.

“I am sure you and Tess were lovers from your past life,” Lunara chose to tease him.

Since he used the same method to get her into his bed, she chose to use it to tease him now that she isn’t too shy about things like this.

“I would love to say that was the case. But the feeling I am getting from the song isn’t one of love, but anger. I feel like I am forgetting something very important.

I don’t know what it is, but I have a feeling I will know soon,” Klaus laughed.

‘Does this have something to do with the weeping sirens?’ he wondered. However, after a while, he chose to let time run its course.

“How strong do you think she will become after her breakthrough?” Lunara asked.

“From the feeling I keep getting, I have a feeling she will be able to contend with you.” Klaus didn’t want to jinx it, but he knew Lunara was powerful, especially after awakening her bloodline, which grants her control over every flame except forbidden ones.

Someone with control over every flame cannot be messed with. However, the feeling he is getting from Tess isn’t simple either.

“Perhaps you can defeat her, but it won’t be an easy battle.”

“You think so?” Lunara raised her brow…

“We will never know until we try. But for now, let’s not focus on that; she is coming out,” Klaus said, watching the fortress break apart, revealing a pale beauty.

Her eyes were white, almost silver. Her hair was also silver, flowing down her back. She was clad in an elegant white gown adorned with icy gems.

The Banshee, who had no eyes, now looked complete and beautiful.

When she stepped forward, the ground beneath her feet froze into ice lotuses. This display already showed that her control of the ice element was at the Perfect stage.

When she reached Klaus’s seat, she tried to get down on her knees and show her loyalty while thanking him for his blood. However, Lunara stopped her.

“No need to do that.” Lunara quickly stopped her, holding her hand.

“Like she said, you don’t have to do that,” Klaus said, standing from his ice throne, which melted right when he stood up.

“Still, thank you for saving me and giving me a family. I will forever be grateful,” Tess said, smiling too.

“Well, you are welcome to the family, I guess,” Klaus looked up and sighed.

“You can go back to your sister. She will be coming out of her seclusion soon, and since you and Anna are joined down to your souls, you can help her in her tribulation if she wants.

So go back to her.” Klaus was thinking about his sweet icy queen, who was still in seclusion back on Earth.

Since Anna and Tess were contracted, Tess could aid her in her tribulation, and the heavens wouldn’t do anything.

It was one of the many benefits of the contract Klaus made them form. So Tess could help Anna, and Anna could help her, too.

In truth, Klaus just wants to protect his beauty from danger during her tribulation.

So if Lucy, who was at the peak of the Sovereign stage, became a Level 6 Ascendent, then it was no shock if her sister, who was at the peak of the Great Sage stage, would become an Ascendent too.

Having a level 5 Void stage to help her with her tribulation would be great and a guarantee that she would pass with flying colors.

“Thank you, Klaus.” Tess bowed slightly and then snapped her fingers, forming a frozen portal. She walked through it, and it vanished behind her.

Back on Earth, Queenie and Nari felt a change in the air, causing them to stand and draw their weapons.
