Chapter 734: Chapter 734 My Favorite Thing is When Women Listen to Me

Luo Ziling, when he entered the room again, found that Lin Lan had already fallen asleep.

Glancing at the time, it was after one in the morning. Luo Ziling decided to give Lin Lan another round of acupuncture therapy before going to sleep himself.

He didn’t wake Lin Lan but instead used anesthetic techniques with the needles, treating her while she slept soundly.

This time during the treatment, he felt that Lin Lan’s blood flow was smoother, and he let out another sigh of relief.

Lin Lan’s physical state was recovering well. Luo Ziling needed to use less energy, but by the end of the treatment, he was still so exhausted that he was drenched in sweat.

With his remaining strength, he rushed to take a hot shower in the bathroom. Dressed in a bathrobe, Luo Ziling then collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep instantly.

He slept until daylight and only then did he wake up.

When he awoke, he got quite a shock, because he saw someone sitting at the side of Lin Lan’s bed.

Upon opening his eyes, to his surprise, it was Phoenix, who had left last night.

Luo Ziling remembered, before he started treating Lin Lan, he had closed and locked all the windows and doors. How did Phoenix get in?

But then, recalling Phoenix’s terrifying identity and her exceptional skills, Luo Ziling came to terms with it.

The leader of Dragon Rise should have such skills; otherwise, it would be rather unbelievable.

“How did you get here?” Luo Ziling flipped over to sit up and only after getting down, did he realize he wasn’t wearing a shirt, just a pair of boxer shorts.

Phoenix caught sight of Luo Ziling’s well-defined muscles and was momentarily stunned before quickly turning her head away.

“Sorry, I took a hot shower after treating her last night and fell asleep,” Luo Ziling quickly scooted back under the covers and explained, before urging Phoenix, “Could you step out for a moment? I need to get dressed.”

Lin Lan had woken up earlier than Luo Ziling. She had also seen him sitting up shirtless, which made her cheeks involuntarily flush with a hint of red.

Phoenix ignored Luo Ziling’s request and continued to talk to Lin Lan as if nothing had happened.

Seeing that Phoenix didn’t avoid him, Luo Ziling had no choice but to hide under the covers to put on his clothes and pants.

As he awkwardly dressed himself, he cursed in his mind, calling Phoenix a female hooligan for brazenly sitting by his side while he slept and not avoiding him as he dressed.

In the end, completely disregarded by Phoenix, Luo Ziling escaped into the bathroom.

After escaping to the bathroom, he redressed and checked himself in the mirror from all angles to ensure nothing was exposed before he felt relieved enough to wash up.

After washing his face and brushing his teeth, he combed his hair in front of the mirror, plucked a stray nose hair that had ventured out, and the more he admired his good looks, the more handsome he found himself. Then he finally came out of the bathroom.

“Hehe, have you guys had breakfast yet? If not, I’ll go buy some. The steamed buns and wontons at the school gate are really good,” Luo Ziling, now looking sharp, was brimming with confidence. He casually took a seat on the other side of Lin Lan’s bed and boldly looked at Phoenix, who was dressed the same as yesterday. “You don’t mind, do you? Lin Lan has tried the steamed buns and wontons several times and she’s been longing for them!”

The fact that Luo Ziling was talking about such trivial matters in front of Phoenix made Lin Lan feel quite awkward, but Phoenix seemed unconcerned and agreed readily, “I forgot to buy breakfast when I came over, so you go buy it.”

“Then I’ll go,” said Luo Ziling, who dashed into his room, but he immediately ran back and asked, “Are we leaving here later? Have you found a place?”

“It’s arranged, we’ll leave in a while,” Phoenix replied succinctly.

“Then you prepare something for Lin Lan,” Luo Ziling said, flashing Phoenix a smile before pointing at the bag connected to a tube on Lin Lan, “Or, help her clean this up too.”

He didn’t wait for Phoenix to react and dashed out of the room swiftly.

Watching Luo Ziling running out of the room, Phoenix gently said to Lin Lan, “Actually, this young man is pretty good.”

“What’s that got to do with me?” Lin Lan bit her lip and said with downcast eyes, “He’s not from the same world as me.”

“You could apply for discharge and then try to be with him. Perhaps, that would be the best path for your life.” Phoenix’s expression remained as calm as usual. “Your body has suffered a severe blow, and only by staying close to him might you fully recover. He’s a decent person, at least for now. He and Yang Qingyin can’t be together, you have plenty of chances.”

“I don’t want to leave Dragon Rise,” Lin Lan said, shaking her head with pursed lips, “Captain, I hope you won’t bring this up again. I’ve never considered these things. I am a member of Dragon Rise, and I will be until death.”

“But one day, you will leave Dragon Rise, whether in battle, retiring due to injury, or the age for leaving comes.”

“We’ll talk about that when the time comes!” Lin Lan still shook her head.

Seeing Lin Lan’s reaction, Phoenix didn’t say anything more, just sighed softly to herself.

Luo Ziling came back quickly, so fast that even Phoenix was taken aback.

He carried three bowls of wontons and enough xiao long bao for at least ten people.

“Let me feed you,” Luo Ziling said with a smile to Lin Lan after putting the food down, “You just need Phoenix to help out.”

“I’ll do it,” Phoenix said expressionlessly as she stepped forward, “You eat first, you’re the most tired.”

“It’s fine, compared to gathering herbs in Tianshan or making house calls in the snow during winter, this is nothing.” Luo Ziling was completely unconcerned and reminded Phoenix, “I know how to take care of patients better than you.”

Seeing that Lin Lan had no objections, Phoenix didn’t insist and gave her place to Luo Ziling.

Watching Luo Ziling tenderly feed Lin Lan, and with Lin Lan appearing quite satisfied and cooperative, Phoenix couldn’t help but feel a strange sensation, even a tinge of envy for the injured Lin Lan. However, she said no more.

After Lin Lan finished eating and lay down to rest, Phoenix took the opportunity while tidying up with Luo Ziling to whisper a piece of advice, “These next few days, please take good care of Kong Que.”

“You don’t need to tell me, I would take good care of her anyway.”

“Also, it’s best if you could get her to retire due to her injury.”

“What do you mean?” Luo Ziling stopped his movements, looking puzzled at Phoenix.

“She’s been injured several times, and this time she almost lost her right to be a real woman. I’m afraid if she continues with Dragon Rise, she will get hurt again.”

“I’ve tried to persuade her, but she doesn’t want to leave. I’ve promised her that I will do my best to help her recover and keep her eligible for service,” Luo Ziling answered Phoenix seriously, “I promised her first, so I can’t fulfill your request. Besides, I’m a doctor, and saving lives is my duty. I’ll do my utmost to heal her wounds.”

“What if it’s an order? You are part of Dragon Rise now!”

“I’m only an auxiliary member, not an official one, so I’m not obliged to obey your orders. When you need my help, I’ll be there, but don’t order me around. I’m not accustomed to taking orders from women, my favorite thing is women who listen to me, including you!”

“…”
