Legendary Broken Player - VRMMORPG

Chapter 844 - 844 - What Lies Beyond the River?

Once all the crew members had refreshed their login times and were ready for their respective tasks, Broken returned to the land at midday along with Mizuki, SexyGrill, SexyBloom, Vallrick, and three members of the Sexy Killers Guild. This was the team set to embark on an exploration of the island, uncertain of what they might encounter there.

However, with Mizuki primarily responsible for scouting and mapping the area, along with the skilled fighters from Sexy Killers, the team was well-prepared for the journey ahead.

Broken quickly summoned Beebot, the Crawling Carriage Golem, and the team boarded the compact golem. The interior felt noticeably more cramped than usual due to the increased number of passengers.

The remaining crew members waved as the crawling carriage stepped onto the sandy terrain and gradually made its way into the forest. Although it was a forest, there were several areas wide enough for the golem to pass through, thanks to the relatively spaced-out trees. The terrain remained challenging, but this was precisely where Beebot’s capabilities shone—navigating difficult landscapes like this.

However, as soon as the golem set off, Broken quickly realized a significant drawback in its design. Being inside the carriage made it difficult for him to get a wide view of their surroundings. The glass windows along the carriage walls were not high enough, severely limiting their field of vision. The only way to get a clearer look outside was to open a window and physically lean out, which was far from ideal during an exploration.

When designing this golem, Broken hadn’t considered this issue. Now, he realized it would have been much better with a panoramic view. It seemed he would have to create another golem to fulfill that need.

The journey went smoothly for a while, thanks to the golem’s efficiency in traversing the terrain. However, there were occasional jolts that made the ride less than comfortable. Well, what else could they expect from traveling through an untouched island like this?

After passing through a relatively small section of the forest, they emerged into an open space where a fairly wide river flowed through the middle. As Beebot stepped closer, they could see that while the riverbanks were steep, the water itself wasn’t too strong—perhaps the flow was just low at the moment?

To make the journey easier, Broken instructed Beebot to leap onto the river’s edge, where the terrain was more navigable.

Throughout the trip, most of the group remained captivated by everything they saw outside—the vast nature, the abnormally large flora and fauna, and, of course, the lurking threats they might soon face.

After some time, Broken, feeling restless from the limited view inside, decided to climb out and sit on top of the golem. SexyGrill joined him, taking a seat by his side.

Then—suddenly—the golem came to an abrupt halt. Instantly, everyone’s gaze scanned the surroundings, their senses on high alert.

From behind a massive rock, something leaped out.

A monster!

It resembled a crocodile, but this thing was simply too massive—nearly half the height of Beebot. Its level? 270.

“Time to fight.” SexyGrill grinned before jumping off the carriage. The others quickly followed—Vallrick and the rest wasting no time in preparing for battle.

With a level that high, the monster was a formidable opponent, even on its own. However, despite the challenge, the team managed to handle it effectively. SexyGrill delivered the final blow, cutting the beast down and bringing the fight to an end.

Several glittering items floated through the air and shot toward SexyGrill—just as Broken had set it up. Even in a party like this, his Bountiful Harvest skill still took effect, ensuring extra loot, even though he hadn’t participated directly in the battle.

Just as they were preparing to move on, another wave of monsters appeared from behind. They were similar in appearance but had slightly lower levels—though there were four of them this time. Broken raised both eyebrows. It looked like their journey would be delayed for a bit.

To speed things up, the entire team jumped into action. Broken summoned two Gaia Beasts to assist in the battle, though strangely, Pawpaw—who had been inside the carriage—seemed reluctant to join in, which was unusual for him.

Broken leaped down as well, drawing his spear. However, just as the clash was about to begin, Mizuki’s voice cut through the air with urgency.

“More monsters are coming from that direction—dozens of them,” she warned.

“Dozens?” Broken muttered under his breath.

They were still in the middle of dealing with the four monsters in front of them, but if even more were on the way…

“Everyone, get back on Beebot! We need to get out of here—this won’t be easy or quick,” he commanded.

Holding his ground, he tried to stall the monsters while the others scrambled back onto the Crawling Carriage. The moment everyone was aboard, Beebot shot forward, its legs skittering across the uneven terrain.

Broken activated his Dash skill and propelled himself onto the moving golem, landing with precision. Some of the others remained on the roof, gripping onto whatever they could as the carriage jolted forward.

Behind them, the horde of monsters surged in pursuit, their powerful limbs tearing across the ground at an alarming speed. Their guttural growls and the thunderous pounding of their feet echoed through the air, closing in like a living tidal wave of predators.

“Shit! They’re fast!” one of the team members yelled, tightening their hold.

“They’re not letting us go that easily!” another shouted.

The monstrous pack showed no signs of stopping—they wanted this hunt, and they weren’t about to let their prey escape without a fight.

Beebot sprinted forward as the riverbank walls grew higher, forcing it to follow the flow of the river in a single direction. The monster pack was still in pursuit, their heavy footfalls rumbling behind them. Some of the creatures leaped, crashing against the golem’s sides, but Beebot powered through, refusing to be stopped.

Broken and the long-range attackers fired relentlessly, trying to slow the horde down, but these monsters had insane endurance and tough defenses—it was like trying to chip away at solid rock.

“Damn it, they just keep coming!” Vallrick growled.

“This isn’t working! We need a better plan!” SexyGrill shouted, her grip tightening on her weapon.

“If we don’t lose them soon, we’ll be fighting until we drop,” Mizuki warned, her voice tense.

“They’re too close—shit, one’s coming up from the left!” another member yelled, raising their staff.

Broken gritted his teeth, his mind racing. They had to find a way out—fast.

As the Crawling Carriage sped forward, occasionally leaping over rocks, keeping balance on top became increasingly difficult. Then, Mizuki’s voice cut through the tense atmosphere with another piece of troubling news.

“King, I think we’re in serious trouble…” she said.

Broken turned to her, his brows furrowing.

At the same time, the others followed her gaze toward the front. Mizuki pointed ahead, and though it wasn’t entirely visible yet, the river’s flow was becoming noticeably stronger, its current surging forward with increasing force.

And then it hit them.

The river… ended.

A waterfall.

A massive one.

“We need to find another way—fast! If we keep going, we’re trapped! That waterfall is way too high!” she shouted urgently.
